We have stayed at several hotels, now trying figure out a new place fairly cheap. We are thinking the luxor as we are seeing several shows their, and it is located near where we want to go. We want a room with a safe and the Quad (which we like ) does not offer a safe. Also what is the gambling like at the luxor? Any $5 crap tables? Anybody stayed at these and give a comparison of each?

In my opinion the Quad is the hotel of last resort. If you can't get anything else, go for it.

Excalibur is okay, but quite frankly smells funny. It will definitely have your $5 craps during the day.

I usually stay at Luxor, since I usually get comp offers from them. I think they have $5 craps weekday mornings, if they don't the walk to Excalibur isn't bad. Tower rooms are nice, not sure about pyramid rooms.

Never stayed at Monte Carlo but everyone on the board seems to enjoy it. I wasn't impressed with the casino though.

There weren't any safes in the pyramid suite or the pyramid deluxe last time we stayed in Sept. I figured a safe in vegas would be standard.

Agreed. MC is the best from the list.

How about adding Bally's to the list

We are also looking at Bally's. It is more strip central and not much more in price than Quad. Our main thing is the safe then comes things like price and location. Thanks for the info everyone.

Monte Carlo has safes. Luxor had safe deposit boxes last time I stayed there. I stay about 40 days a year at MC, all for business trips. Video Poker sucks as do the slots but I've had good luck at the tables. Great pool if you're going in the warm weather. Easy access to NYNY, Aria, Belaggio and Crystals mall.

Read the TripAdvisor reviews for Excalibur and the Quad. Not many want to return.

Bally's charges a daily fee for their safe.
Also the front is currently a construction zone, so access is limited.

We are arriving on April 12. The pool is not a huge deal for us and not sure how temps will be for that anyway. Last time we went in early April it was chilly and rainy. Does the MC have cheaper tables?

I've got to tell you to go with MC...this has been my home casino for the last 5 years...if you have specific questions let me know. If you have a chance to experience HOTEL32 please do, it is great! Hotel32 is where I stay everytime.

This is me and my brothers 3rd trip he goes several times a year so he is way more expierenced then I. We have previously stayed at Quad (IP) and Flamingo enjoyed both due to location and we are easily pleased. He has stayed at MC before so it would not be new to him. Are their safes in the room? and do they offer $5 craps tables? We love craps but hate spending big money.

There aren't many $5 craps tables on the strip, Casino Royale has $3 but only one table. I played some $5 craps at Bally's on a weekday. When I stayed at Luxor last April, during the week, only $10 tables.

I haven't stayed at the Quad yet but it sounds like it's going to be pretty decent, certainly far better than the IP was. I would agree that the MC is probably your best choice on your list.

MC will have $5 craps early mornings on weekdays and I've seen $5 craps in the morning on Sunday's. They also have a craps training session in the morning and they will open the table up to those who attend the craps training session for $5.

I've stayed in all but EX. Definitely MC is the cream of the crop. Luxor is not bad, but I don't care for it since they started marketing to a crowd that doesn't include this mid 50's guy. I would choose MC unless you feel that Luxor would be more convenient for you since you are attending a few things there.

Maybe I am naive or stupid. We used to use safes all the time. Have not used one in last 50+ casino visits. We usually have a laptop, ipad, and a few thousand in cash. All left out.

We do put Do Not Disturb sign out and do not get service which does restrict access to staff.

Only money we have lost was on the casino floor - LOL!

I stayed at the Luxor exactly 1 year ago in a Pyramid Room, and it definitely had a safe.
