Just browsing through my offers on the TR site and saw one for 5 free nights, $375 in casino play and a 250 Gift card for the wife, lots of Aeroplan points, so I checked availability for shits and giggles and sure enough there were seats on the dates I requested...

I just got back from Vegas on December and we are now booked again for Feb 6th-10th.

Using my total rewards, I was able to book a Augustus Tower Luxury room for free. I've never stayed at Caesars before so I'm unfamiliar with the detailed hotel layout, rooms etc, so any advice would help here....

A few questions come to mind:

    - Should I try to the $20 trick to upgrade, from this room or is this an awesome room as it is?
    - I just hit diamond (20k tier credits) in December when I was at the flamingo, so I have a $100 voucher to use on food, any suggestions on a restaurant in Caesars?
    - Each time I got to Vegas, I like to try and either do or stay somewhere different. We actually arrive on Thursday 6th in the morning, but I booked Caesars for only the 7th-10th. I'm thinking that I'd like to stay at a non CET property on Thursday night for something different, our short list is Plazzo, Bellagio fountain view room, or Cosmo/Aria. Even though I can extend my Caesars reservation to include Thursday for free, I'm thinking I'd like to try something different. I have around $200-$300 budget for a room for Thursday night anyone have any suggestions? (On a side note, we will most likely give the casino we stay at around $500 (loss) or so in slot play.

Thanks for the advice in advance!!!

The Augustus Tower room is pretty awesome. I would focus more on making sure you have spectacular view. As for dining, my personal fave is Payards. I haven't tried the newest places yet, though.

Augustus tower is about the best at Caesars. Go for a fountain view.

As to another hotel, why not do Paris for one night - as I am sure that would be comped. You have to call in to do that. But, if you are going to pay, a Bellagio Fountain View is awesome.

Way too many choices for food at Caesars. All good. Check out the Food section.

Stayed at Paris for a week 2 years ago, loved it, but I'd like to try something different this time (a non CET property).

I just called the Palazzo, and they will give me a rate of 129 + tax + resort fee. Walked through there in December and cycled a few hundred through a Family guy machine and really enjoyed the casino layout/brightness. Soo many choices....

Anyone know the difference between a Augustus Tower Luxury Room and a Augustus Tower Deluxe room? My reservation says Luxury. Also should I shoot for closer to the strip end of the tower or it really doesn't matter s long as I have fountain view?

    Thanks!

"Luxury" vs "Deluxe" only refers to the view, the room is exactly the same. An Augustus tower room is 650 sq feet and more like a junior suite than a regular room with sofa and dining table--it is one of the rooms people booked into older towers are trying to upgrade into. The "luxury" view will be facing Bellagio, I wouldn't worry too much about which end of the hall you are on. It is probably the most desirable non suite room category at CP. Octavius tower is newest, with better beds and technology but smaller rooms and much farther from the main parts of the hotel.

For your diamond dinner, i would say do mesa grill. As for yor extra night, I would say just stay at caesars in the augustus tower since it is comped and use the money towards gaming or entertainment. You have one of the best towers at Caesars (keep in mind it is not guaranteed until check in but your thurs check in will help a lot) and it will give you some time to get used to the property since its huge. But you will get used to it.

Imho, just stay at caesars the whole time and use the extra funds for dining/gaming/entertainment. If you get the augustus or octavious tower, you will be fine. Caesars used to be my home base until I switched back to mlife.

Also, since you are diamond, they usually do not put you in a lesser tower than palace which is nice also. Its basically like augustus to me but a little older.

Do you think it's possible that I wouldn't get my room because it may be too busy, if I stay elsewhere on Thursday and don't check in until Friday?

I think you will be fine since you are already in town and can go to the diamond lounge to check in early. Also I doubt it will be very busy.

But again, I would reconsider staying at another property for only 1 night since you will have a great room for free already.

    Hope you enjoy your trip!!

Forgot to mention, I am going to ramsay steak at paris super bowl weekend because of the reviews/advise from this board instead of prime at bellagio. You can also use your voucher there for dinner.

I just ate there on December 6th......it was Fantastic, you will really enjoy it! I'd recommend the beef wellington, mac and cheese side was amazing, and of course the sticky toffee pudding!!!

Augustus tower is wonderful!! We were upgraded to that tower last year on our comped room and it is so nice. It's great too because easy access to the strip from that tower..............don't have to walk all the way through the casino to get out. ;-)

Sorry. You can NOT check in at the Diamond Lounge for your room. You can go to the Diamond Checkin which is in the Augustus Tower.

Can understand the mistake. The Diamond Check In is kinda loungey. They usually have some sweets and either coffee or infused water out to tide you over.

Ya I figured you guys meant the Diamond "Check-In".

Is that on Flamingo Road? Where should I tell the limo driver to drop us off?

Usually not, but I have, in Diamond check in, overheard people getting sent to Roman Tower.

Karen is right. Don't expect to get a room in one of the new towers. I had a room booked in Octavious as a Diamond last May and luckily ended up in the Palace Tower by checking in early and having argue with the manager.

I recently got a similar offer as yours and called a host about an upcoming April trip. He stated that rooms are not guaranteed and that they will give preference to Expedia customers over diamond/Seven stars customers first because of an agreement they signed with Expedia. They will then look at play, giving preference to select players. He recommended checking in early on weekdays and said to be prepared to switch to a Paris red room on a weekend or get stuck in a forum/roman room. Alternatively, He said that I would be better off booking Paris with a host for the same offer and have a great chance at getting upgrades to a Suite. Good Luck.
