Trip is the end of March and some of these plans, obviously are subject to change.

I will leave Columbus at 735am and arrive in Vegas at 1115am via a lay over at lax on Monday the 24th.

I had planned on a cabbie buddy to pick me up at las but have since decided to use the bell trans VIP service after seeing that it will be the same price or so as a taxi round trip

My first two nights are going to be at Luxor with one of those nights a comp from my vegas. I will be paying for a second night there in order to not have to check out and into another hotel on Tuesday.

I will use Monday and Tuesday to do things at the south end of the strip down to Cosmo or so. I admit my last trip was 2011 and I never made it past Cosmo while staying at flamingo, so this will give me a chance to play catch up on this end of things. Walking will not always be easy due to severe arthritis in my ankles (which the dry Vegas air may help).

Wednesday I will possibly use the monorail (courtesy of my vegas) to take me to harrahs and then walk to the mirage for my wed and thurs night stay which are comps via myvegas bonus nights. I will use this time to explore the north end of the strip.

I plan on visiting Fremont street at least for a few hours one evening, would prob use a bus to get to/from.

Things I want to do but will depend on several factors:
    1. Catch a show. Thinking absebthe or zumanity.
    2. Wicked spoon at Cosmo
    3. Steak or BBQ special at Ellis island.
    4. Relaxing poolside
    5. Pepper mill

I will be looking to play low level table minimums, more than likely blackjack and I may try to learn Paigow before going. I am not totally sure what my bankroll will be so I will have to wait until closer (mid February or so) to know total budget but I'm hoping to take $1500 to $2000

I have yet to book a flight back but I plan on coming back on the 28th of march. Other than when I was under 21 and we traveled as a family and would stay a week or three,I have never stayed four nights so adding a night may take some pressure to do "everything" as fast as I can. Last trip I got next to no sleep the first two nights and crashed and lost my last night sleeping.

This trip it seems my only out of pocket upon arrival expenses will be resort fees (which I'm told May or may not be charged but I'm planning on them) and any gambling, food and shows I may see. Iv never had a comp room and my play won't warrant any comps I'm sure. I may try the $20 trick at the mirage and shoot for a volcano view room.

    To recap:
1 night at Luxor comp plus resort fees
1 night at Luxor paid for with first night deposit
2 nights comp at mirage plus resort fees
Bell trans VIP which will be paid for in advance

The nice thing about knowing everything is essentially paid for in advance will be not having to worry a lot about things if I accidentally exceed my bank roll. I don't have credit cards to fall back on.

I'm debating weather to take my bankroll in cash or utilize the ATM as I need to. I have a google wallet debit card which does not charge me ATM fees (still pay atm provider fees) and a chase debit card.

One thing I'm afraid of is the hotels wanting deposits or putting holds on my debit cards. When I stayed at flamingo the check in girl said it was policy but waived it for me.

As you can tell, I'm trying to do this on the somewhat cheap (my vegas, bus and monorail for transportation) yet I want to have a good time.

Anyone have any thoughts or insight to help in my planning? Since iv turned 21 iv only been to Vegas in 2002, 2005 and 2011.

Sorry for the typos, I typed this on my iPhone.

Holy smokes! You typed that on a phone? BRAVO!!! I'm not sure I have anything to add for planning purposes, frankly, it looks like you well know what you're doing! I do enjoy the excitement and anticipation that comes through loud and clear in your post. It's cool!!! Hope it's the best trip ever!

Yes most of my web stuff is done on a phone and nearly all my post here in the last 5 months have been.

Sad part is this trip has been planned since the beginning of October so I feel like I'm on short time from where I was.

    1. Absinthe is fantastic. Much better than Zumanity IMHO. But hopefully you'll know all about Absinthe before you buy tix, it's not for everyone.

    2. Great buffet.

    3. Have not done that (yet).

    4. I'm in the frozen midwest, love poolside :)

    5. A Vegas classic not to be missed :)

Pretty good To Do list ya got there.

While at the south Strip don't forget to play the Lion's Share slot in MGM.

Not sure what night you want to go Downtown but if you decide on the bus consider the WAX from south strip. From the Mirage take the CX. Two express routes with fewer stops and faster than the Duece or SDX.

I recommend a Thursday night visit to catch Yellow Brick Road on the 1st Street Stage from 7-10 pm.

    Where is the wax stops?

I mainly like downtown for lower minimums and the night life under the canopy. Against better judgement I may visit heart attack grill

Pick it up on Tropicana just outside the NYNY Valet. It drops you off on the east side of The D on 4th St and Carson. For the return trip get on at Casino Center next to Binions. That's a big bus stop shared by several other buses.

Sometimes you can get out of the nightly deposit and sometimes you can't. Better to plan on $100/night ahead of time and then when checking in ask if you can have it waived and not allow charges to the room.

Last time I stayed at Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay I had to ask for a deposit to be charged for the convenience of getting stuff at the pool. You just never know who you're going to end up with on the other side of the counter.

Good advice. I don't charge to the room, don't want the privilege and I don't make phone calls or touch the tv so no ppv for me.

And the final piece of the puzzle. I booked a flight with points returning from Vegas on Friday march 28 at 6am. I don't normally do the early morning flight back but iv been watching the fares and they keep going to. Swa is running a fare sale and that was the only flight on the sale.
