Anyone get complimentary drink coupons from Southwest this year? I received 4 last year as a Christmas gift if I remember correctly. I do have the Southwest credit card. Was wondering if anyone received them this year?

We did not get any - 1st year since joining the rewards program many years ago.

I remember an e-mail back during the summer saying point levels for flights were going up. They have scaled back the program considerably since I first joined and it appears its going to become even tighter in the future.

For the first time in a very long time we flew another carrier this year ......... between both of us we saved 240 over a SW fare.

Its the first time I feel like SW has let us down in regards to competitive fares.

    We didn't get any either.

Motorcat, we are strictly SWA but your post made me curious, so I checked other airlines for our Feb trip. Nobody on our dates is flying non-stop to Vegas except SWA. SWA was also the cheapest and that was before adding in baggage charges.

Thanks. Unfortunately, Southwest is the only airline flying direct to Las Vegas out of St. Louis. We could save some money flying other airlines, but would have to stop and change planes, which is an inconvenience. I'd rather pay the extra money and fly non-stop. Unfortunately seems like a lot of folks prefer the same thing, which seems to cause the fares to continue to rise.

Should of mentioned - The flight I was speaking of was not to Vegas.

SW is the only non-stop out of Raleigh to Vegas as well.

    None for me.

My wife got them last year, but not me. We both have SW Visa cards.

This year as in 2014? Seven-(7) days in? Nope... but I thought you get them after so many flights? I wasn't aware they sent any out at the first of the year?

I only fly SWA thanks to their great service, on time, and most importantly direct flights.

My next trip to vegas is Sunday...but I waited to the last minute for tickets, and paid $600 bucks...ouch!

At least I get free drinks.

IIRC the drink tickets are sent out on the yearly renewal of your SWA credit card.

Funny, both my wife and I received them (as rapids rewards members) and neither of us drink.

My wife and I each have separate SWA - Chase credit cards (helps to double up on promos) ... and we each got a set of 4 drink tickets last year for the renewal of our credit cards. One set expires on April 30, and the other set expires on Sept. 30.

I'll be damn, I just got four-(4) in today's mail from SWA in a letter dated 12/23. I don't have one of their credit-cards.

Hopefully you're flying SWA when you leave in 8 days! If not, I'd be happy to take them off your hands!

I pretty much exclusively fly SWA and almost never drink (use them), as I generally have to jump right in a rental car and go to meetings, but I just gave these four-(4) to a couple girls here in the office who are flying to Orlando and will have a chance to use 'em.

Earlier this week my husband and I each received a letter from SWA with 4 drink tickets included. The tickets are good till the end of 2014. We don't have a SWA credit card; the letters reference our Rapid Rewards numbers.

I've never had or wanted a drink on a flight, but I guess I can make a New Year's resolution to change that!
