Thursday December 19th... Afterwork stress of flying out..

Okay finally typing it up. I do not know how people do these live or as soon as they get back...

Thursday December 19th... Afterwork stress of flying out..

This trip was almost canceled because our dog sitter said she could not watch our babies the week before the trip. My mother and stepson stepped up to the challenge and saved it from being canceled. I was very surprised because my mother is scared of shepherds and one of our dogs has Siberian Husky in him. Thank you Mom and Ryan!

We were planned to fly out 3 hours after our workday is over. This was the first time trying this out and probably the last. Trying to get out of work on time and having your stuff packed the day before was just way more stress than I like. Next time, I will deal with the sleepless night before a trip instead and fly out in the morning like we usually do.

We made it to the airport alright without any problems and our plan was on time! We are winners all ready! During the flight, when we weren't sleeping we were talking to Newt, a Vietnamese guy that was a prisoner in North Vietnam for 10 years. He had some great stories and had flown his family to Disney in Orlando. We seem to meet interesting people on our trips to and from Vegas.

Our flight was from Tampa with a stop in Phoenix and then arriving in Las Vegas at 12:15. Everything went fine, however we did not care for the Phoenix airport, I will spare everyone the complaints. When we arrived in Vegas we decided to use a taxi for our transportation since our last three were limos. Time for a change once and a while. It was not that big of a difference to me. We arrived at the MC and was helped by an awesome person that gave us a room on the 31st floor. We pretty much went to our room and went to sleep so we were prepared for fun in the morning.

    Friday December 20th

    Friday December 20th

We woke up early and as we were getting ready noticed that the air seemed broken. So we called down and they sent someone right away and replace the motor in 15 minutes. That is service!

We went down to the casino for Starbucks and to check out the scene. After our espresso, the wife played craps at a five dollar table for a few hours. I just watched because I wasn't feeling it. I actually didn't find a table I liked all day. After she doubled her money we went over to check out the Aria and play Double Jackpot 7's and VP for a while. After that we headed to Paris/Bally's to eat at Le Burger. It was our first time eating there and we loved our burgers. I got the Paris burger with brie cheese and she got the blue cheese burger. It was really nice when the wife pulled out one of her groupons to help with the bill. Then we headed back to the MC for multi BJ and VP.

We had a great CW at the MC, Natalia. She provided fast service was always smiling and friendly. She helped make our stay and play at the MC! It was nice because for two days we saw
her smiling face and drinks often.

After a while we decided to get freshened up before we went to do anything else and wanted a few cocktails for the room. So we went to the little shop in the MC that sells booze and drinks. That is where I met my new best friend Fireball. For those that don’t know its cinnamon flavored whiskey and keeps you warm walking around on cold nights in Vegas.

For that evening, we took a rest from gambling and saw the sin city comedy show at PH. Not a bad show, but I would not pay full price for it, yes groupon again. They were also handing out free passes on the street where you just purchased a one drink minimum and you were admitted. Not a bad deal but the comedians vary so the show will always be different. After the show we walked through PH, played something and then headed back to play a little at MC. Then we crashed for the night.

PH has another show that is in the sincity theater called 'the coop show'. They are handing out comp tickets for that also out by the escalators at PH. Sean cooper is funny, if you don't remember him he was the comedy act in Fantasy at the Luxor.

Saturday December 21st - My First Royal

Saturday December 21st - My First Royal

We went down to get an Espresso and play a little VP. It was like any other day in Vegas for us. We sat down at a bank of VP machines in front of the cashier at the MC. I hit a 4OAK, a straight, a full house and a few other nice hits that got my machine up over 200 dollars. Then proceeded to play it down. Now during this time the wife is telling me to cash out and take my winnings. Then I got an Ace, King, Queen all in the same suit. I held the m of course and hit the draw button. Nothing! Then two hands later I got a Queen and Ace in the same suit. I held them not expecting anything and BAM! At first I thought the machine failed because I was looking away and heard that weird beep that happens and Call Attendant was on the screen. Then I looked at the cards and at the same time it changed from Call Attendant to 4000 Jackpot Won.

The wife was laughing because in my calmest voice I said “I got a royal”

After all the excitement and the w2 we went to The Sugar Factory for a decent meal with a groupon. I had the steak and eggs and she had sliders. Not bad steak - I was pleasantly surprised at the seasoning. Messed around Paris for a little bit, tried to play our favorite WOF slot, but people were using it. Then we went back to the MC and Aria and played some more. No big wins to report just some fun and drinks. Our new CW friend Natalia was working again, and we were all happy.

We decided to eat dinner so we went to Brand’s Steakhouse. We just had the prix fix, and it was nicely done. I don’t have too many things to say because I had way too many drinks. Yes the CW service was awesome at the MC. The wife did like her cucumber cocktail at Brand’s.

For the evening, we went to Bally’s for the Veronic’s Voices show. It was entertaining and well worth the five dollars we paid for the tickets. Thank you to who ever started that thread!

We went over to NYNY to check out the tables but the one we wanted was full so we went over to MGM so I could play the lion’s share but some turd had it locked for over an hour. Sorry but thats bullsh1t and MGM allowing that lost my money. Idiots.

Called it a night after a while of walking and playing at various places.

When you say that the Lions Share was locked for over an hour, do you mean that the slot attendant locked the machine up for someone who was going to dinner or whatever?

Or do you mean that so done was playing it for over an hour?

He means someone had their ass locked in the seat for over an hour.

That usually is me! I threw in a hundy last trip and played for an hour and a half. Got tired of playing and made a hundred to boot!

I thought that was what he meant, but why on Earth would OP be mad at MGM for allowing a player to gamble for over an hour at a dollar slot (???) that's why it's there!!! They'd prefer someone punch max credits for 12 hours

On occasion, I have seen high rollers who were going to sleep ask the attendant to lock their machine up/shut it down until they wake up to ensure that no one touches "their" machine. I guess I could see getting upset about that on the Lions Share, being such an attraction and all

An attendant locked it for someone so they could go do whatever they wanted while the machine just sits there...

Getting upset over someone playing a machine is unreasonable.

    Wow, I stand corrected!
Never have I ever seen that machine put on hold before. That sucks for the rest of us that want to play it while we are in the vicinity of MGM.

Thanks for sharing! I was pretty excited for our next trip, which is why I came here to read some trip reports, but I'm even more excited after reading your report (probably because we do similar things, casino bounce, drink, play $5-$10 craps and VP.. annnnd of course play the lions share machine when at MGM).
