I am just curious if anyone has ever played VP in Glitter Gulch, I remember seeing adds that they had some machines, and if I remember correctly would comp drinks.

The paytables suck more than the dancers do (even in the VIP room).

Please do not mention that place here. It is forsaken, evil, and everything that is bad on this planet all bundled into one small space :vomit:

They added it a couple of years ago. I have been tempted to check out the paytables, (no jokes) but haven't.

Only on VMB would we ever see posters (raises hand) more interested in VP paytables at a strip club than the quality of the dancers. I guess because it's GG we already know the answer to the latter.

Having said that, I wonder if you are playing VP at the bar, will they comp drinks? Lap dances? :evillaugh

Actually I'm semi-curious myself on the paytables as well as the price of admission. File it under the "why the heck not?" category.

Look at the sign outside. They misspelled brunette. Must have been a blonde moment.

I think I would rather play VP than view the tattooed, skinny, meth heads who are providing the entertainment.

I suspect the payables would be awful. There's no reason for them to be good... it's a shakedown joint in all aspects. That doesn't mean I didn't have a good time in there a couple visits, years ago when I used to stay downtown.

A guy I know made the mistake of walking into the place, he said the girls will descend on you and before you have a chance to say anything a waitress will bring over not just your drink but drinks for the girls who came over, he said they were ridiculously priced($20 or so), he said he told the waitress he didn't agree to buy anyone a drink and then a bouncer came over and threatened him if he didn't pay. He said he was there less than 15 min and was forced to pay almost $100 and left in disgust, you have been warned.

Well crap. Now that a gauntlet like that has been thrown down I am going to have to go in there just to let them try that with me and see what happens.

And I find it unlikely that they would offer free drinks while playing VP. It would be too much of a bargain playing even the crappiest VP ever offered and drinking for free rather than paying the inflated drink prices.

Is there a cover charge to this clip joint?

I dont think there's a cover but I think you have to buy a drink(which is fair), of course they dont mention the other ripoffs.

Last I was in (1 year ago) there was no cover, but a two drink minimum. You order two drinks immediately, two beers $20, then they didn't really hassle us too much after.

While you do get mobbed as soon as you go in, I think your friend made the rookie mistake of not distancing himself from the girls when he went in. The best plan at any strip club is to distance yourself from the girls at the door, usually those girls are the vultures and rip off artists that want to get quick drinks (lap dances, etc.) from you and suck you dry as fast as they can before you start to wise up.

At GG the girls do try to hustle you for drinks but I usually just put my hands up quickly and say that I want to check out the place first before I choose a girl, I tell the waitress the same thing. I think your friend was overwhelmed by it all (all the girls coming up to him) and didn't chase the girls off quickly enough, then when the waitress came over to take your friend's order she also tacked on some extra girls drinks (the waitress probably gets a cut from it too).

Actually I quickly get away from the girls and usually will tell the waitress that I want to check out the place first since I never visited the place and will go up to the bar to get my drinks. Unfortunately the bartenders sometimes won't give you the time of day and want you to go through the waitresses but at least walking away gets you away from the girls and any potential rip off charge for some girls drink.

The drinks are about the price at many vegas strip clubs - starting at $10 for a beer, 2 drink minimum, more for well drinks. I think you actually pay for 2 drinks upfront and the waitress will bring both drinks at the same time. This prevents you from running away and paying for only 1 drink.

I think in any strip club you have to watch out for the quick drink hustle, sometimes before you even sit down a girl will be on you with the waitress asking for your drink and also bringing the girl's drink even though you didn't okay it. Best to chase away the girls until you are settled down and ready for some company. That tells the girls that you aren't a rookie and won't fall for their rip off tactics so they aren't as likely to try it.

If they actually have video poker then they cannot restrict access to the general public. If you really want to get into the Golden Nugget's pool area just tell the gate keeper that you want to look at the gaming tables. Now the reason that Glitter Gulch still exists is the same reason that pigeons hang out in parks...someone is feeding them. Warn all visitors, the worst decision you make in Las Vegas is stepping through those doors.

My understanding is that if you offer gambling in your establishment then you have to guarantee access to the general public, which means cover charges or private club restrictions cannot be imposed on those wishing to gamble. This is the best reason I hear for the question "why aren't there topless casinos?" They would be regulated on nudity, liquor, and gambling.
