The one thing we like best at the Riviera is the ACG coupon for two free tickets to the comedy club. Give them the coupon at the door, and they take you right to your seat ... no fuss, no muss.

The one thing we DON'T like at the Riviera is that there is just one cashier, which also doubles as the player's club (and other services ??). Many times there will be a dozen, or more, people in line, (with only two clerks), and all I need to do is cash out $40 in chips ... and I wait, and wait, and wait, and ........

I mentioned this in a survey after my recent stay, plus some of the slot cash out machines were not working so the line was long. But, for new card members, you get a free T-Shirt. Not sure they will offer this during your stay, but the Wicked Vicky pub had a deal during NFL games, a pitcher of craft beer and 10 wings for $15. I had something from Dogfish Head that was pretty good.

Played plenty, never hit a thing, in like eight trips. Good drink service though! I only started having luck on the slots there this last visit. Hope that continues tomorrow :)

New poster here, hope you have fun tonight. Riviera is doing a pretty good job of appealing to the budget gambler. We stayed there around a month ago and while the hotel was the definition of average the drink service was superb, and the casino bar may be the best kept budget secret in Vegas right now. Drinks were dirt cheap. Dollar drafts, two dollar wells and most of the top shelf stuff was only 3 bucks. I went with two guys who are in law school and it really helped them extend their limited budget.

If the Riv can hold out until that area gets redeveloped I think they could be a great go to spot for low rollers.

Could either of you verify the $1 BJ there and if possible while getting comped drinks could you order or ask if they have available Long Island Iced Tea or a Blue Dolphin.

Yes, I hit a quad deuces on a $.25 playing max coin, $1.25 a spin, won $100. I played a few other sessions and it was up and down.

Now, I can't justify why I was playing max coin at a casino bar that featured $2 bottles of Miller lite, Fosters (US made swill), $2 well drinks and $3 call drinks (My colleague was drinking Crown and Ginger) and $1 drafts like Pabst. Pacifico draft was $2 according to the comp receipt. It was a great place to relax with a beer, play a little VP and contemplate what lies ahead for the evening. Just don't go there thirsty around 6 pm, it is a shift change and you will be ignored by the outgoing staff and the new shift is more concerned about counting the drawer and BS'ing for 10 minutes. It's a desert for 20 minutes.

I am not a big VP player and admittedly, when I read DDB, and the other acronyms, these terms are lost on me. But the machine I was on was a multi game version and I was playing DDB, 7/5 maybe.

I stayed here twice, both were work related trips for trade shows at the Convention Center. I really hate waiting for those busses back to the Convention hotels and the cab lines are long at the end of the day. The Riviera was a walkable distance from my trade show and my needs are minimal: a bed and bathroom for a solo trip. Now, after previously staying at the Vdara and spending time at the Bellagio, had I brought my wife on this trip, the Riviera would be off my radar.

$1 blackjack is available 24/7 at the Riviera. I'm sorry I forgot to ask about the drinks.
