I'm sure this is probably posted somewhere, but bear with me...

We are staying at TI this trip and plan to go to Fremont Street at least one day. Based on prior trips and alcohol consumption, we are not renting a car this trip. My question is, what would average/reasonable cab fare be from TI to downtown?

    Thanks all!

According to a one of the taxi websites I looked at, it would be about $20 that includes tip

    Taxi

If we go downtown we usually take express bus to downtown and cab it back to strip. Cab fare one way according to taxifinderfare.com is $17 to $24
depending on traffic, and that's using I -15 to get downtown not using Las Vegas Boulevard. Hope this helps. Should be an express bus stop by the Wynn northbound, saves being on the milk run, get off by Binions

It was about $30 with tip to Excalibur. The bus is a much better option depending on the time of day at $5 round trip.

An easier way to get from TI to the bus stop outside of Wynn is to walk through the TI casino, exit out the door headed to the Fashion Show mall, cross that bridge north, then cross the bridge over the strip to the Wynn side.

This saves a bit of walking out of the front of TI, across to Venetian, past palazzo, and over the east side bridge to Wynn.

Original poster: How much is cab fare from TI to Freemont?

Response: The bus costs $5 and has a stop near the Wynn.

    :bang:

Cab fare is about $20, give or take a few bucks depending on traffic. Yes, the bus is cheaper, but not nearly as convenient as a cab. You'll be packed in that bus like a sardine. I'd take a cab over the bus any day of the week.

Echoing what the previous posters said-- about $20 each way, depending on traffic.

No that's OK. The reason people mention the bus option is because when somebody asks "How much is the cab fare from _____ to _____?" the question almost always (99% of the time) falls under the "Cheapskate" category of things you could ask about Las Vegas - somebody is worrying about a couple of bucks while on vacation in a city like Las Veags.

Since the bus is an even cheaper option than the taxi, then a reply about the bus becomes a valid reply to a cheap question.

The reason "How much is the cab fare from _____ to _____?" is a cheapskate question is because the answer is almost always going to be "about $20"

How much is the cab fare from Excalibur to Downtown? Its going to be about $18-22... thats about $20
How much is the cab fare from Luxor to Planet Hollywood? Its going to be about $14-16... with tip thats about $20
How much is the cab fare from the airport to Venetian? Its about $20
How much is the cab fare from Cosmo to the outlet mall? Its about $18... with tip or traffic thats about $20

The cost to get from almost any tourist point in the Las Vegas Strip/Downtown area to another point is going to be about $12-25, which is enough of a range to say "about $20"

So if somebody is asking about the cost then they have to be worried about the costs and if they can afford it or they are worried about the cost and if its worth it... hence providing alternative affordable options is a valid answer to both.

I respectfully disagree - I wasn't looking at the cheapest way to get there, I was more concerned with not getting ripped off by a cabbie. Thanks for all the info!!
