Dining credit doesn't include alcohol at V/P?

I had an offer that included a few hundred in dining credits from the Venetian/Palazzo so I took them up on it this past weekend. This is the first time I had this included in a trip to LV though I get dining credits from the local Indian casinos for my day trips. My assumption was that it was an agreement with the state which forbids alcohol to be comped even in restaurants. This is probably true considering the nature of CA politics. As mentioned above, went to LV to meet up with a friend this past weekend and charged meals to the room which included beer. When checking out, the VIP desk said they would call the host and find out if my alcohol was comped. This was a bit surprising to say the least as I didn't manage to use all the credits available at that point anyways. But why would they not include booze which is part of dining by most people's definition. As I said, there are reasons the Indians aren't able to but Vegas?

I left before confirming if the host had covered it but I haven't seen a charge show up yet. Do other casinos have similar policies and is alcohol one of those things that gets comped by the host?

In every case I have seen, booze is treated the same as meals. You mentioned room service, maybe that has something to with it.

Last time I had a food credit at V/P, it was for certain restaurants, and nobody could make it CLEAR which ones were covered. One of the reasons I have no desire to return there.

I couldn't charge the pizza and beer at Grimaldi's to the room nor the coffee in the morning. The VIP lounge didn't have coffee to go either but was a good respite later when I wanted to imbibe large amounts of ice tea to rehydrate. Didn't have room service so not sure if that counted. I think the issue with not knowing the restaurants included is that not every one is on the room charging system. Would seem like a no brainer to make it easy for patrons to pick up a pizza and charge it to the room but what do I know as a seasoned alcoholic degenerate. Looks like the casino host picked up the booze tab as the charges that came through were just tips. The issues does irritate me that it isn't included with the credit but I think maybe I just have to get used to going to casino host to get bill paid for.
