Well here we are- checked in around midnight last night(this morning? whichever) the check in girl was lovely, we got exactly the type of room we wanted, high floor two queens, close to elevators (we got very close literally next to them) and a good wifi connection.

When I booked the resort fee was $6 she said they could honour that but it would not include the internet as that was not included when I booked at that fee- fair enough I took the current rate so I got wifi.

The connection is just fine it is 1m but a speed test is showing 1.5 which is fine for what I need -I have no plans to download massive files or upload thousands of pictures to farcebook.

Since I last stayed a couple of years ago there have added a chocolate shop near the elevators- and they sell coffee with $1 refills no more hike through the casino in the morning :D

Oh yeah apparently there is free wifi in the sportsbook area too, and I got a good connection to the room wifi from the pool area

If anyone want to know anything about the orleans just ask and while I am here I'll see if I can find out. (im here 12 nights :D)

Asti: Thanks for the feedback; I haven't stayed there since March.

Actually, I find the in-room coffee more than acceptable; I just need it long before I become presentable enough to venture down. And while I usually leave a request (and tip) for additional coffee, I also bring my own. I'll willingly take my chances in the casino – but not with my coffee!

I was just at the Orleans last weekend and enjoyed the in room coffee. 1st nights tip got me double the packets for the next morning. I still drank 2 cups but at double strength.

From a gambling perspective, is there any reason to make a stop at the Orleans? Please check if they have any Ultimate X or STP games for Double Double Bonus. Also, what are the rules on their double deck blackjack games? Thanks for checking around for us!

Their double deck BJ pays 3:2 (of course), DDAS, and you can play two hands at the table minimum, often $5. That's a pretty good reason to visit right there, as opposed to most games on the Strip. Sorry, I can't answer your VP questions.

I'll be there for a week beginning 24 Oct. Is the in room WiFi for just one device, or can we both log on for the same price? Just wondered if you could find that out for me.

    TIA.

Pebbles: Assuming you look like your pic, maybe we'll bump into each other. I'll be at the Orleans whenever I move from Suncoast on the 28th, and before heading back to Suncoast sometime on the 31st.

The resort fee covers three (3) devices so you should have no problems both logging on.

And back to the coffee.. I gotta admit it smells ok (i cant stand coffee) but the coffee drinker is a fussy one (enough said)

blackjack- thats about been answered.I was happily playing $5 min until late last night in the party pit. I twas fun no fortunes made but none lost either

and vp- that I have no idea about it's just not my game

Huddler, they have STP with Double Double Bonus, but the pay table stinks. I'm pretty sure they have a couple of Ultimate X machines too.

That's an old photo, but not too far off the mark. Hair is shorter right now too.

You can go to Orleans Casino Dot Com and see games or play or some such and click and there will be a search for favorite game / machine and you just browse through either by denomination or specific game type / name. Map is shaky as to location or vice versa but it will tell u if such a game is in the building.....good luck
