I went from gold to pearl on Oct 1 (which was not a surprise), Question-When I stop at the mlife desk to get my free play activated next week, will they issue me a new card. Just curious .

If the card you give them is expired, yes they will give you a new card.

If you do not show them a card, they will issue you a new one (as you keep your old one in your pocket)

they will give you a new card but you can keep your old one like nostesshere said if you dont hand it to them. i dropped from plat to gold and i have two plat cards. i hope they dont change the design so i can still use my old plat for the taxi line.

I was fully expecting to go from Gold to the lowest tier because of next to nothing play since fall of 2011. If the website still shows me as Gold do you think they are leaving me at gold for another year???

My last substantial play was august 2011. At the time tiers were good for a year, so when they switched to oct. First reset I was gold until oct. 2013 I thought. But, I am still gold.

I'm in the same boat, domeboy. I earned all of 10-15,000 points/credits/whatever they're called last year and am still Platinum. I'm assuming it's just typical Milf incompetence and will eventually be fixed...not that I'd ever notice anything other than the color of the card. :rolleyes2:

Still sitting at Platinum as of this morning - with NO PLAY in the last year period.

Just over two weeks until our trip back... chances are they'll have it "fixed" by then. I still happen to have a Platinum card on hand, FWIW.

Edit - if nothing else, I am "Diamond" with Royal Caribbean, thus a phone call can bump me up to Gold for the year. If I were only "Diamond Plus" with Royal I'd be a perpetual Platinum with Mlife (until the two companies sever their relationship)

there are a few people on here who reported the same - played nothing in the last year and still showing their old level after Oct 1. it's likely that it's some sort of glitch in their system where it doesn't demote you until you show some play. I know this happened with some of my bank accounts that I never used when they merged their systems. the accounts didn't activate in their new system until you actually used them for something. until then they sat in some sort of suspended state.

Even if they change the design I doubt you'll have trouble using the old one at places like that where you just have to flash it. A lot of people, if not most, who are already platinum, will still have the old design. It would take at least another year or so for the old cards to start looking suspicious.

In my case, I did take advantage of an offer at MGM in July, 2013. I didn't zero play, but it was only there two nights and only earned around 20k points. That was first play since 8/2011 and I am still gold on website.

I haven't been to Vegas in 14 months. I use to go 4 to 5 times a year and was platinum. I am going in a couple of weeks and now I am sapphire! Is that strange?

    WTF!!!
As of 3 weeks ago, I was 5k points short of moving to Pearl (ok, I know its still low tier)... now its showing 0 tier points and need 25k to move to pearl!

Last time card was used, was in May/June and start of September.....

So am guessing that regardless of time, from the 1st Oct, they reset your tier count anyway ?

Correct ... which is why our trip back (getting close now) was not scheduled until AFTER October 1. We have not been to any MGM property since Labor Day weekend 2012 - meaning I earned ZERO TC's during the last period (10/1/12-9/30/13). I saw no point in going earlier as I knew any TC's earned would be wiped...

Yes, Oct 1 is their annual date.
Just like many others that reset to zero on Dec 31.
Everyone gets reset. Not sure why this is confusing?

If you don't know it, then it's confusing. Honestly, I enjoy your posts a lot, but you do tend to come across like you think anyone else is a bit stupid if they don't know something you do sometimes :nworthy:
