Hi All, will be in Vegas in November for almost a month.......not a big party person anymore, and closing in on 45 this year, but still like to go out for the occasional beer or 3 especially in a city open all night.

I know just about every casino has a lounge or bar area but those tend to be rather pricy; and the high-end places like Club Tao and the Palms and the Rio, et al, tend to be for 20-somethings.

Are there places more designed for the 30 or 40+ crowd, not a lounge but more like a good club/bar with decent music and lights, etc....with no waiting lines and not-too-serious dress codes?

    Thanks!

Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars comes to mind.

Bourbon Room in Venetian (plays only 80s music though and attracts an older crowd). Nice, spacious venue.

Hyde at Bellagio in the early evening. Great for watching the fountains as well.

    Eyecandy at Mandalay Bay.

Margaritaville at Flamingo has a dance floor but also serves food. It's more a mixed crowd.

Carnaval Court is a big favorite but also has a mixed crowd. I think you might be able to appreciate it if you gave it a chance though.

You can get a better idea of all of them by reading about them on yelp.com.

if you think a club - even one that caters to the older genre - is going to be less expensive than the casino bar, you are going to be disappointed. drinks at bars/lounges around the casino are usually less expensive because they want to keep you close to the action.

OK, understood.....I guess I was comparing it to the FREE drinks you get on the casino floor; when you go to one of the bars for a break it's kind of a shock to pay the 4 or 5 bucks or whatever for a beer.

Great tips here so far, Thanks a lot!

Foundation room or Mix at Mandalay Bay. Regualar stops for our group of late 30's and mid 40's.

Yeah clubs are going to be closer to $8-10 for a beer and $12-15 for a mixed drink from the rack not top shelf. I don't know many actual "clubs" that are geared toward 30+ that's going to be more bars and lounges.

Gold Diggers at the Golden Nugget downtown fits the bill nicely... check it out on the Nugget's website. I think you'll like it.

I'm 44 and went to Gold Diggers Oct. 2012 and July 2013 and had a blast. Our group ranged from 31 yo to me. I have never been there in November but Carnival was fun when we went.

Don' know if you have anyone going with you but Thursday night at Toby Keith's Bar in Harrah's we had a blast. Ladies night all you can drink for $20 and for us guys dragged along beer prices were very reasonable vs. the strip. Live band and dj in between sets.

Correct. The clubs in Vegas skew towards a younger crowd then clubs elsewhere, particularly with the popularity of EDM which is geared towards early 20s [along with teens of course]. All of the recommendations at Mandalay are very good but if you are looking for a casual place to dance without lines, sco5123 provided a good list. I would also suggest trying some of the older clubs that are no longer very popular - for example LAX or Ghostbar. They tend to draw a more casual crowd, however the age range is still early 20s.
