Does the Rio have a dedicated Diamond check-in room or area like some of the other properties do? Arriving tomorrow.

    Thanks!

Jenblase - As you come in the front entrance turn to your right and you will see it pretty quickly. If you go to your left it is the regular check in area.

Yes, I used it last month. Their room is also open to platinum members which is great for me but might be a negative to you diamond guys. There was however a seperate line even within the VIP check in. I can't remember if it was just for seven star or if it was for diamond also.

PS, they have some very tasty fruited water in there to. When I was there one was Lemon infused and the other was Cucumber and something or other. They also had some very good cookies laid out but they didn't have them the next day when my wife went in their to grab one.

Thanks! We get there around 11 tonight and will have a rental car. Better to park in the Carnival garage (over by the buffet) or by the Masquerade tower?

Since I have a Samba room reserved I'm tempted to park in Masquerade and then just have my mom stay over there with the luggage. She's older and it's hard for her to walk longer distances while pulling her bag. I haven't ever stayed at the Rio, but from what I remember of their casino, it's pretty huge.

Why don't you valet? It's free, in the front by check-in, and you can get a bellman. If you're a diamond player i'm sure you can afford to tip and you won't have the hassle of walking/carrying bags.

Yeah I was thinking about that.... may just do that for the first time and then we'll park in Masquerade garage the rest of the trip.

Ahhh YES, I am newly platinum, and instead of waiting in what seemed to be a 100-person line to check in at the regular check-in lines, I walked with my two little girls into the Platinum and up room. 3 workers, and I was the only one in there. I got to pick which person to help me.
I do believe the Platinum and up room closes at 10pm though, but not 100%.
That high society stuff really doesn't appeal to me cause I feel like we should all be treated equally, but I'll definately take advantage of the perks here and there while I have them.
Didn't notice any water or cookies though. Checking in tonight, so we'll see if they're available.
