So I suppose nobody is impressed that my wife and I put 138 credits on the ticker playing VP at HC this week.

    Think they'll spring for airfare?

A little over 110,000 right now. Wife and I both got 75,000 from the Great Race last year and I was pretty high before then. Between us we spent about 75,000 on meals and spa last trip and will probably do the same when we go back next month. I get the point about running them down each trip - but it is also nice to plan a trip to Vegas knowing that basically all your meals are covered. Also thinking about tickets to Elton John this trip - probably would not spring for them with cash - but just seems easier to use points for those kinds of things.

Does anyone know how often they have 10x days? And is it known beforehand so you can plan a weekend trip or just announced as it happens?

Never in Las Vegas. Always announced beforehand to drive more business in out of the way locations on days like Tuesdays.

I maxed out each of the past two years Race to Rewards, and my wife and I currently have about 48000 RCs left. We gamble just enough to get most rooms free, but not enough to generate beau coup credits from gambling.

We had 60000 RCs each before we spent a month in Vegas/Reno this past May (we each had used some Race-earned RCs for non-comped rooms in St. Louis before Harrahs sold it). We also each exchanged 40K RCs for $200 in airfare credits before our May trip (yes, I get the math, but the RCs were basically free, so I thought it was still a fare value. [Get it? Fare value.])

All 7 days at Harrahs properties were comped, but we didn't eat many meals there... Hash House Reno once, and Mon Ami Gabi and Gordon Ramsay Steak in Vegas were about the only meals in which we used RCs. We did use some in gift shops for 5 Hour Energy, Immodium (don't always eat well on vacation, you know?) and bottled Diet Coke for my wife who refuses to drink Diet Pepsi.

We were surprised when we each left Vegas with 45000 RCs, as we had expected to really chew through them. I do use the Total Rewards Marketplace for some online purchasing (I love Drugstore.com) and I still regularly do the Social Rewards thing... I have turned that into almost 20000 RCs since I've begun doing it. I won't be hanging around too many Caesers properties on my upcoming Vegas poker trip, but we like knowing they will be there for next-May's Reno/Vegas trip.

This isn't a Vegas thing but CET does it a lot in AC and other local markets. When they do it in AC its always been good at any of their properties there when I've done it. It doesn't matter what game, it just gives you 10x whatever RCs you earned that day at any of their properties. The multiplier varies but its usually been 5x or 10x for me. Sometimes its invite only and sometimes its for everyone. The current 10x promo in AC every Thursday until month end is open to everyone. They even have billboards advertising it in AC.

One time I got the multiplier applied twice for a single day because of a computer glitch. You have to activate the multiplier at a kiosk and the kiosk was giving me an error message so they took my info by hand. But I guess it did register on the computer because a week or so later the multiplier got applied twice.

As for the 1:1 promos, they're tough to find, but exist. I've been known to fly to casinos for this when my balance was large enough to warrant the cost. Now that Seven Stars redeem for 1.2:1, I don't see myself flying anywhere. The last one I saw was Harrahs Philadelphia for the month of May.

You can gift up to 5,000 Reward Credits to a friend (limit of two transfers per year). Not much but if you can't or won't use all your points it might be worthwhile. We lost over $400 in our TR points from inactivity, so trying to look at other options to replenish some for our upcoming trip. :-(

I always have a ton since I have their CC. I have about $250.00 right now sitting in my account. My local does bonus RC day as well as giving them away on certain days. Last month it was 5000 RC for showing up. But with that said, if I just got them from gambling I'd really have nothing to show for it. I earned about 6,000 TC last year. I never stick around on a machine long enough for bonus RC so I'd only earn $60.00 on $30,000 of coin in! Thats pretty shitty.

My local Horseshoe used to give me straight cash for a 2:1 ratio. So this would have been $2,00.00 in cash so its a fair deal.

Right now, I have 8,928, but I spent 79,298 in June to cover an Augustus Tower room for my BIL and his son, take them to meals (including Bacchanal Buffet) and a show for a weekend. That took me a while to save up, but it was worth spending it on them. We generally go to Vegas around 4 times a year and I seem to accumulate somewhere between 6,600 and 11,000 each trip.

My husband has a Gold card with 5,884 on it that we keep alive every time we go but haven't spent for some unknown reason.

On a side note, I'm sort of liking the new TR program. I find that it "forces" me to concentrate my play on a day a little more so that I can hit the 1,000 Tier Credit mark for the 1,000 bonus. But, it seems I'll have no problem making Diamond again this year. The $100 dinner is a nice perk, too.

Does anyone else feel that they are earning Rewards Credits at a slower pace now, though?
