I visited Vegas in July and was wondering after the remodel to the Quad where it would be positioned in the lineup of Caesar's properties.

Well I have noticed when checking prices for December and a couple of emails from Total Rewards that the room rates at the Quad have been higher then Harrahs, Flamingo and Ballys. The email for rooms during the marathon notes rooms at The Quad from$56, Ballys from $43, Flamingo from $35 and Harrahs from $35.

This is quite a change from the past, as I am not aware that rooms would be renovated by then and when checking the Total Rewards website rooms are still shown as the old IP rooms.

It appears Caesars is seeing the renovated Quad moving up to about the middle of their casino lineup.

I would take Bally's over The Quad any day.

They aren't updating the rooms, just the casino. At least for now... It's because of the new Linq shopping center that is going in behind it.. they can't have it leading to a huge dump lol.

There could be other reasons it's higher at the time...

No updates to rooms means the Quad remains the bottom of the bottom. I had a buddy that stayed there once and I visited from my Planet Hollywood room and needless to say I invited him to sleep on the floor of my PH room which was clearly cleaner than a Quad room.

From what I hear the casino is acceptable after an update, I have not been back since the casino update but might check it out when I'm in town in a couple months.

So until they update the rooms the property will remain a good notch below the rest of Caesars properties. The only thing it has going is a good location. I think the prices you are seeing is CET trying to make some money to cover the cost of the casino updates seeing as they are facing bankruptcy with some big debts maturing in '14 and '15.

I've heard some pretty indifferent things about the Quad. Last time I visited was December and we only walked through the back way from the monorail to get to hash house a go go and then walked straight out of the casino to get to the strip. Nothing too great in my opinion but a lot could change from December. Staying at Ballys in December and going to again in November the room was just fine, the view wasnt anything great but really only slept and relaxed in the room after walking and gambling for hours. Paris is attached so we played in that casino since the ballys casino isn't that great. Overall the Quad is still not that great and you can find better deals ESP for the Caesars properties.

While many of the standard rooms desperately need renovating I still doubt that the quad will move up the line up for cp hotels on the strip even with room renovations. Like trying to dress up a "pig", there is only so much they can do to the quad. Not sure how long it will take but management needs to understand that the quad is in business because of the budget minded travellers. if they raise hotel rates and fees then they will chase those guests away. but then Harrahs isn't that great so the quad could jump over harrahs but still not be on the same level as most of the mid and south strip hotel casinos (except the trop, ex, lux).

Other things they need to improve, the parking lot is a mess, actually better to park at harrahs and take the walkway over then to try to navigate around the quad parking structure. They need to renovate the hallways and elevators, not to mention their check in process. Unbelievable that it takes an hour to go through the regular line, they need to increase the front desk size to handle more clerks and somehow move the lines away from the general walking area. they need to improve housekeeping and maintenance to make sure that they fully clean the room; while the rooms currently are old, if they were better maintained they wouldn't have gotten into such a state of disrepair IMHO.

We all know that once the renovations are complete then CP management will then raise hotel rates at the Quad but I am not sure how many people will pay that much more to stay at the place. I certainly won't.

Dec. 20th-21st! Christ. Terrible. Maybe they are hoping for suckers that are tempted to pay more for the Quad because Linq will be done around then. But with the hotel unchanged, it is a ridiculous rate. When I log in, I can get Harrah's instead for $20/nt before discounts/fees/taxes etc, but $136/nt for Quad... :faint:

I'm showing December comped everyday Sun-Fri and weekends about $30.
In fact, my rate calender is still showing the Quad, Flamingo, Harrah's, Rio, and Bally's comped Sun-Fri from now to Aug.2014. With Caesars comped one week a month through Aug. 2014.
Planet Hollywood and Paris, however, rarely show any day comped and most days Sun-Fri for any month from Aug. 2013-2014 are $40-$120.

I usually have harrahs ballys and flamingo comped for the most part then the quad is usually a dumb rate and Caesars is Caesars usually but Paris and planet are always more expensive and to be honest I can understand why bc the hotels have nice casinos and eating and are in a perfect location.

They are likely closing off blocks of rooms to remodel or for other reasons, or there is an error in the system. The Quad is barely an upgrade over sleeping under the Flamingo Ave. overpass.

I've stayed at IP once and it was the third worse room I've stayed at in Vegas (Hooters and Excalibur were the other two). I'll stay once in the future (likely one night after a late fly in before checking in elsewhere the enxt day) only to knock The Quad off my checklist, but I'll wait until they remodel the entire hotel and hopefully rooms will have a thermostat and doors will have locks/latches so I can have a climate controlled and safe room.

Maybe if Hooters was part of their line up.

Have you signed in to your TR account and using the rate calender? Never, ever check e-mail rates and offers, use the rate calender. The whole month of December should be comped Sun-Fri and $32 max on the weekend. The Quad, is/will have the lowest rates at CET forever. When i say lowest rates i mean comped.
I just came back last week from Caesars........comped, i am Gold. Stop looking at e-mail rates and offers unless you prefer to pull out your wallet/purse. I have said this many times before..........free is the best offer. If you are Gold like me and prefer free rooms, well, then, for 5 nights it's $10+tax per night at the Quad and up to $25+tax at Caesars.
But hey, it's your money, do as you please.

I was using the email more as a reference than for booking. My rooms are typically booked logging into total rewards, though that is showing a similar trend for the first week in December. Harrahs 20 a night followed by Flamingo, Ballys and topped by Quad at 53 a night. I am not a huge gamber, but did most my play at the Quad with some at Harrahs and Flamingo on my last visit.

I just signed into my TR and checked out my rate calendar for a trip on my Nov birthday. Keep in mind I am a low rollin' gold TR member but when I have a look at the rates I am astounded. I can have Forum Tower @ Caesars for a hundy a night. Not bad I guess, I don't know for sure as I've never stayed there.

The shocker to me is that I can get a mid level suite at Rio for $19 a night?!? I've never seen this before and stranger still is I've never set foot inside of it. Flamingo where we play we can get a Fab room for $35 a night and WTF the Quad comes back at $42???

I don't know weather to book at Rio right now or what because this must surely be a screw up.

I was at the Forum Tower at Caesars last week comped for 5 nights. The Forum Rooms are small but otherwise fine. You can try and upgrade upon check in to the Palace Tower, with is a lot bigger.
I stayed at Rio in May and also loved it. I used the sandwich at Rio and upgraded to a Premium room in the Ipinema Tower with a panoramic view of the Strip.
Make sure you look at the TR rate calender for Flamingo, i also have comped rooms if i want Flamingo later on..........however, when you look at the room description be sure to drop down and you might notice that the $35 per night (or cheaper) room includes the Fab Deluxe with Strip view, which is the same price.
The Suites at Rio are about 650 sq ft, have free fridges, and if you use the Rio shuttle, it's just to the right of the Ipinema elevators. IMO the Ipinema Tower is much more central.

ceasars is spending so much money on the linq and the quad is on the front of it so that is why they are renovating it. they are not updating the rooms yet but they will if they have money. the regular casino area will be made more and more of a party place and the quad will be a higher property then ballys or harrahs.
