:beer:Heading out for a football weekend Sept. 27th. Considering grabbing our football bets and watching the games in a location with good "sights", decent beer selection, and above average chow. Any thoughts ? Considering places like Twin Peaks, Toby Keiths, Kahunaville, Blondies. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :drunk:

I see that you are located in OH. By chance are you a Browns fan? If you are, then the sports bar/restaurant across the street from Southpoint is owned by people from Cleveland and is designated a Browns spot for NFL. If you're interested I can find out the name of the place and their web site for you.

A link to NFL team bars. Be careful with bars like the sporting house and lagasse's stadium. Most of them charge minimums to be in there on NFL Sunday. Lagasse's takes reservations. They get very crowded and you have to get there early. I've never been off the strip for NFL Sunday, but I'm assuming you'll be okay if you leave the strip area.

I would call ahead for information though, just to be on the safe side. NFL Sundays are an extremely busy time in Vegas sports books and bars.

:drunk:Sweet link thank you. We have been doing NFL Sunday at The STRAT , and they do a great job there. We also have done the NCAA Saturday at the Bellagio but after several years, and rumors of drink tickets, have decided to consider other places. Bunch of guys in need of cold beer, good bar food, and waitresses that can be distracting is this years goal. The fellas keep looking at Twin Peaks, Lagasse's seems a little too metro sexual for the goof balls I go with.

I've been doing NFL Sundays in Vegas for about 10 years. I've only being doing NCAA Saturdays for about 4 years.

LVH is the home of football in Vegas on Sunday. I've never been, but everyone who goes there, swears by the experience. Cold, cheap beer, cheap food, betting stations... tons of seating, tons of big screens, etc.

I've been the Sporting House on NFL Sunday... when it was the ESPN Zone. It's still the same setup. They charge a $50 minimum to be there. I would assume all sports bars do something similar.

I've done LS' stadium 3 times now. That's about as good as it gets on NFL Sunday, IMO, but it's expensive as hell. They charged a $50 minimum per game to sit in the stadium... but since you can reserve a seat, you don't have to get up early to get there.

The past few years we've just been hanging out in the sports books. I buy some beers/liquor at the liquor store inside the miracle mile and take it with me to the sports book. It's cheap and getting service in the sports book is really tough on NFL Sunday, so it works out better in the long run.

The only thing I'd worry about going off strip is getting back to the strip. Cabs don't run off strip as much as they do on the strip, so it might take a while to get a cab to bring you back. Even getting a cab to the Hard Rock is a challenge sometimes.

I am curious as to what you mean by NCAA Saturday at the Bellagio? Is that a ballroom setup similar to the Strat and/or LVH theater for NFL?

Is it a special viewing party for college football at the Bellagio? Thanks!

I let the OP answer, but to my knowledge the Bellagio doesn't do anything special. I believe he just meant, "We've been going to the Bellagio to watch NCAA on Saturday."

No, we really are fans of the sports book for NCAA college football and the fact that the Bellagio was one of the few casinos comping drinks, from Newcastle to Red Bull and Vodka made is a sweet place to have a cigar and watch some football.

Totally agree on LVH. They do it right. Food and drink specials and sattilite betting. All in their showroom.

    And it's non smoking too.

Is the LVH setup stadium seating, rows of chairs or tables and chairs?

Stadium seating.....similar to a movie theater actually. Three giant big screens, and then additional smaller screens (but still huge) on the sides.
