If you want some free drinks, downloand the free 4Square app on your smartphone. A GPS locates you and you "checkin" to a list of places that are nearby. Ballys to my knowledge still has buy 1 get 1 drinks at the bars. I used this a lot last trip. After you check-in, you show it to the TR desk and they give you a coupon. Pairs and other TR props also have $5 off buffets as well.

Yup, there are a lot of foursquare deals on the strip and just open a bullshit account if you're like me and avoid social networking sites. One of the best happy hour ones is for The Pub at Monte Carlo. If you check-in on foursquare you can get happy hour pricing at any time on any day. That includes all the drink specials and $1 sliders and wings. I haven't used it yet but its a great deal if you're hanging in that area. The only foursquare one we used was for the free frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity at Caesars which my girlfriend wanted to try anyway. The drink is like $10 so a nice deal just for pushing a button on your phone.

Yea it was nice getting a $12 lunch buffet at paris as well...LAST YEAR. This year it went up about $4-$5 which is a huge jump IMO.

McCormick & Schmick’s. Formerly the unrivaled best happy hour in town, this is still a worthy one, running from 3 to 6:30 p.m. weekdays. Food selections are $2.95 to $5.95, with the best being a half-pound cheeseburger for $3.95. Corned beef sliders and fish tacos ($4.95 each) are also good choices. Beers are $3.75, well drinks $4 and wine by the glass $5. 335 Hughes Center Dr., 836-9000.

Rhythm Kitchen. This one’s a powerhouse, with discounts on more than 20 appetizers. Baby back ribs, shrimp brochette, a firecracker sushi roll, alligator tail, calamari, Kobe sliders, catfish chips, individual pizzas and steak bites are all $3-$8. Oysters are a dollar each, served on the half shell, charbroiled or baked. Beers, cocktails and wine by the glass are half price—a Red Stripe in the bottle is $3 and a draft PBR is $2. The happy hour runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and from 4 till close on Mondays. 6435 S. Decatur Blvd., 767-8438.

Todd’s Unique Dining. From 4:30 to 6 p.m. and again from 8:30 to 10 weekdays, a big selection of half-price appetizers includes tuna tartare, potstickers and an amazing short-rib “martini” for $5-$9 each. Drinks are also half price. 4350 E. Sunset Rd., Henderson, 259-8633.

Ferraro’s. Located across from the Hard Rock hotel, Ferraro’s offers the “Mezzanotte experience” every night from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., with 50 percent off all food items and 25 percent off drinks. On this deal you can get pizzas, appetizers and salads for under $10, pastas in the teens, and steaks or osso buco for under $25. 4480 Paradise Rd., 364-5300.

Other choices include the American Fish/Sirio tandem at Aria, where happy hours run in both restaurants from 5 to 7 p.m. weekdays; “Nickel F*cking Beer Night” at Fremont East’s Beauty Bar, with five-cent beers beginning at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays; and the “Gambler’s Happy Hour” at Bar 702, where video poker players can get up to 104 percent returns from 3 to 4 a.m., 9 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. daily. And the drinks are free!

Go out the back door of Ballys by the sports book, cross the street to Stage Door, Dive bar is what you want, this fits the description, $1 beers, $2 shots Beef Dog and a beer $2.50. Not a bad place to pre-game of cry over your losses
