    Hi,

I know many of you have stayed at the Flamingo many times. Could you give me your experience in having to deal with rooms near by you that had late night parties?

On my last trip, a bunch of kids in the room next to us played music ALL night and the smell of weed was horrible. I've read a few similar experiences here, and just wondering how prevalent it is.

I'm supposed to stay there again in a few weeks in a Go room, and don't want to have to deal with that again.

    Thanks for the feedback!

We have stayed at Flamingo three times and have not run into this problem. We have had that problem a couple of times in Atlantic City and all we did was call the front desk and security was up within a couple of minutes and took care of the matter. I would think that they would do the same in Vegas, especially if you tell them you are smelling "weed".

Our stay at Flamingo was in a GO room and one night we went back to the room around 3AM and there was a party going on in the room across the hall.

Just after we got in to our room we could hear security showed up and was breaking up the party, but no idea how fast is their response time.

But its not just a Flamingo thing: we've seen parties at other properties we've stayed at.

One thing to remember is that Las Vegas attracts a wide variety of people and among them is the young party crowd, the college students and even groups of friends who try to pack a whole bunch of people in one room for the night so they can save all their money for drinking...

The big thing is: if all somebody does it just try to find the cheapest possible rooms in Las Vegas this is sometimes what they will get because "cheapest possible rooms" is what those types are also looking for.

It doesn't mean you are always going to have a party going on next door, but it is something you should expect to happen from time to time.

I’ve been lucky with respect to noisy neighbors. I’ve never had anyone who was too out of control that the TV on quietly wasn’t enough to drown out the noise enough to sleep comfortably.

I think Auggie’s response is spot on. You can have rude, noisy neighbors at any hotel in Vegas, but something like Flamingo – with its cheap rates and central location – is likely to attract more young folks than other places.

Weed? If you haven’t smelled weed while walking to your hotel room in Vegas you either don’t know what weed smells like or have some serious olfactory deficiencies.

I've stayed at the Flamingo many times, twice in the recent months, and never had anything happen such as this. The Flamingo does not tend to attract the oh-so-hip 20-bopper party crowd.

My dad ran into this problem at MGM Grand last year.....I've never had this problem in fact most of the time I am really pretty lucky it is rare that it is ever noisy in the rooms I stay in.

Yeah, we've stayed at the Flamingo 3 or 4 times. Despite all of our efforts, not once has someone called security on us. ;)

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Appreciate it.

This particular instance I believe was a group of 8 or so who wanted a place to smoke out and hang all night. I'm certainly not against partying, but loud music and yelling till 6am was rough. I would have called security, but worried about retaliation since I had my family with me.

And yes I'm very familiar with pot and it's smell, but it doesn't agree with my so much anymore and certainly don't want my room to smell like it.

Many years ago I had something similar happen at the Monte Carlo, but for that and many other reasons I don't stay there (taxi line anyone?).

Flamingo back in 2007 is the only time we have had noisy neighbors. I do think it is possible at any Vegas hotel. Reviews on TA have noisy neighbor complaints from every hotel. It is truly the luck of the draw. We complained and security took care of it. I do agree that the Ipod docks don't help. People crank them up at 3 am as if they were at home. Many hotels have the docking stations now so it is not a Flamingo problem, just an inconsiderate people problem.

Frankly I don't see the point of going to Vegas and sitting in the room all night drinking. There's a whole party town out THERE people!

When I checked into my room in June I had very loud neighbors ...not the music...I heard oooo and ummmms and ooohhhhs.. They had the do not disturb sign in the door and it was not taken off for 2 days. Maybe a wedding party?
Other than that I didnt have a issue. Like others have said its the luck of the draw. I had weed smelling neighbors in Bellagio, with loud music.....loud neighbors in Bally's with the weed smell... Rio with the smell...

It's Vegas...you'r gonna hear and smell stuff. If you really have an issue with this...you might wanna go elsewhere. I agree if you can't sleep cause the room next door is loud at 3am say something...if you'r just mad at the smell and noise then why are you here?

We had this problem at MGM a year and a half ago. Was the night before New Years Eve. I banged on the door between our rooms a couple times and that just made it louder. We called security, twice. They finally showed up, talked to them and security wasn't 50 feet away and they started back up again. Security just kept walking away :grrr:
Not to mention we were in a non-smoking room and there was an adjoining door between our rooms and the smell of cigarette smoke coming under that door was horrible.
Called security 2 other times and no one ever showed up. Bitched about it when we checked out the next day and she just shrugged it off "Crazy people come to town for this holiday"

These were adults, they weren't under 21, why in the hell would you hang out in your room partying when you're in Vegas?

That is one of the reasons why we stay at Ballys. You can bet by 11:00 p.m. more than 75% the guests are sound asleep or at the Indigo Lounge finishing off their prune juice and vodkas.

    Agreed!!
I have run into this in almost every hotel I have stayed at in Las Vegas. Plenty of clubs and bars to get crazy in.
When I go up to my room at 2am after a long day at the pool and in the casino ,I don't like listening to the bachelorette party next door screaming and howling.
Doors on connecting rooms are the worst but I have even heard them through the walls when I have a suite.
My most memorable was at Ballys when the girlfriend came back to the room to find the boyfriend with another woman(hooker.)
There was about a 2 inch gap under the door so it sounded like they were in my room.
    Sounded like WWE.
Lamps thrown, punches, kicks you name it ,I did call security that time.
Usually I just start calling their room about 6am to say good morning.
