Wynn and Encore has the best standard room on the strip even though i prefer Encore. I havent stayed in Wynns rooms since they renovated but even before that they were nicer then Palazzo. If you want the little extra space and seating area that the Palazzo room have, just go over to Encore instead and you will get the same thing just in a nicer setting. Otherwise its not just the rooms that are nicer at Wynncore, better pool area and casino is other benefits.

Both hotels seems to be good value though at the prices you mentioned.

Wynn is of course a bit higher class place. V/P suite are nice - though they should not be called suites in my mind since there is no doors/walls between bedroom and living room area.

Guess I would pick where I would be spending more time. And, if you are heading out towards Harrahs, etc, then V/P is better location.

Both sound like really good deals. And I doubt you’d be disappointed with either choice. But, I’d definitely go with Wynn. The rooms are nicer (if a bit smaller), the casino has a much better vibe (Palazzo always seems kinda dead to me) and the service is better at Wynn.

As mentioned, if you need that extra 100 sq. ft., go with Encore. The rooms are almost identical in size (though not in lay out) to Palazzo and it is usually no more expensive than Wynn.

Both are great.. overall I'd probably just do Palazzo, the rooms are larger, and as a whole the property just has much more going on. Wynn while beautiful is so boring.

I liked Palazzo's pool slightly better than Wynn and the location was better in my opinion. One deciding factor would be if you maintain gold or platinum status with Holiday Inn since Palazzo is part of the IHG group and it would possibly score you a free upgrade. That being said, I felt like the service at Wynn was better and it did not seem as much like a massive hotel as Palazzo.

Another factor is whether you mind the location or not. Even though Wynn and Palazzo are close in theory, you still have a bit of a hike to get to center strip. The Palazzo feels a bit classier than the Venetian, but the Venetian location lets you out right next to Casino Royale and some action. Wynn you have to get all the way through that Esplanade and up and down some escalators and across bridges just to be at the end of Palazzo nearest to Wynn.

I love that WynnCore property, but the location is the main deterrent for someone like me who likes easy access to the center strip properties with haste.

Good point! Most people that stay in the V/P do it so they can be close to the Casino Royale. The same goes for wynncore since its very attractive to have Circus Circus and Riveria within a short walk.

This is a no lose situation for you. Whatever you choose is great. But....if it were me I would choose Wynn. I have stayed at both Palazzo and Encore and love both places. But if prices are similar I'm choosing Wynn/Encore.

For me it is Encore>Wynn>Palazzo and $20 is not much of a difference - if it were 50% more - maybe not but I lose $20 just going from the room to the casino

    For me I'd do Encore>Palazzo>Wynn.

Encore is the nicest standard room I've ever stayed in, in Vegas - close contender is THEhotel.

Not gonna give a yes/no on either of these "cheapo"joints. But,I will say that location is easily a decision factor in the original question and easily trumps the level of room or dollar cost.

You are correct sir that location could factor in! I just dunno if all people see it as a big plus being next to Casino Royale, my point was only that it just as easily can be the opposite.

True, Casino Royale has no appeal to me....tried to go in several times to play the 100x odds on craps and every single time they had one table open and packed full of people.

I'm a Wynncore fan and have stayed at Encore, Wynn, Palazzo & Venetian and I rate them in that order. Although it's been a few years since staying at Wynn or Venetian. But if Wynn has been remodeled than it could only have been better. For me, as a guy who walks a lot, location of Wynncore was a plus. But if you're not than it is not. One thing though is I end up eating at Venetian/Palazzo more but I like the feel of the Parasol bars for cocktails.

The Venetian room may have more of a suite feel to it because of the sunken living room but when I stayed there it really didn't get used. Wynn's rooms are very colorful.
