    My Trip Report

Just got back from a great trip to Vegas, was there for a conference. Roller coaster of a time with my bankroll, but ended up leaving with winnings. Started of the trip as Sapphire at MGM properties, and ended up leaving with 254k tier points (I normally play at Cosmo or Caesars)! Did it all in less than 24 hours too. Headed back in June, hope I can be as successful then!

Wow. I thought I did good hitting it in 48 once - but that was before the 10/1 changes. Awesome!

Impressive !! A few weeks ago I arrived in town at Sapphire (83,000 pts) and got to Plat (205,000 pts) - but it took me 2 1/2 days. To do that in 24 hours is some stout playing....

Thanks Guys! It was quite the evening. I think I played for about 4 hours, and hit the table max quite a few times. I was surprised to log in the following morning and see that I had made Platinum!

What did you play? Were you intending to play that high, or just pressing on a hot streak?

that is pretty stout play these days. in the past 200k TCs in a night could be easily achieved, but since they reduced the earning percentage, you have to be in the $3-4k avg bet range to post that kind of total in 4 hours.

If my calculations are correct, you'd need just under 3K average bet...3K average bet for 4 hours should get you 270,000 tier points.

Wouldn't it matter what game you are playing? I would think that equal bets and equal time playing would get you more TCs is you were playing, say, 3 card poker versus BJ, due to the higher house edge for 3 card...

Maybe -- not sure how they make that work. BJ and craps run about 2250 points per $100 bet per hour.

yes, roulette or 3-card and other carny games have a much higher theo. avg numbers posted generally refer to the low HA games like craps, BJ or Bacc.

I was playing BJ. And my bet ranged, but was mostly over the 1k mark at any given time. It went as high as the table max, with quite a few double and split opportunities.

just so you know doubles and splits don't count into your average. but assuming table max was $10k, it sounds like your avg was probably in the $3k range like we're talking about.

Thanks for the info on doubles and splits, I had no idea! Yeah, i would say you're about right on the average. I don't normally play that high, but once I was up enough, and it was casino money, I thought I'd give it a shot.

Is craps a set HA when used for theo and point calcs? or do they note what bets you are actually making and adjust the HA per bet?

Not sure anyone knows for sure, but I play blackjack and craps, and when I get my rating at the end of both it's all in 'average bet' and number of hours. Your craps bet tends to just be a sum of all your place bets plus your pass bet, with maybe a bit tacked on if you're making a lot of center bets.

From what I can tell after reviewing all the sessions with a host, it is a set %, and they just note what your average bet is, not what it is going on.

I still think the whole thing is jacked up. My last trip I earned 499,900 TC's, when I used to earn close to a million per trip. I played more hours than the OP, but my average bet was also higher, and I didn't earn at the same ratio as he seems to have earned. They also screwed up my average bet something fierce, which may have something to do with it. I know that my few hours of craps play hurt the overall average.

yeah the craps rating system is very non-scientific. if you're pressing pretty hard and treat the dealers and pit boss well and talk him up, you can usually get a very favorable rating. of course on the flipside, if he's not paying attention and you don't talk to him afterwards, you can get really screwed on your rating like I did last trip. I was rated $600 avg bet when I started with $100-200 pass + $440 inside + $25/5 hardways and pressed from there. at one point during a hot roll I had over $2500 on the table. and that doesn't even include the $1-2k, which of course they don't factor in. it looks like he just took my first bet down and never adjusted when I pressed.

I had that my first session on this last trip. Was betting $25 pass line and $135 across and at one point had $600 out (8 alone was pressed to $300). I got rated at $120 for 2 hours. Never went back to that pit boss.
