    My Trip Report

I am going to hit the highlights of what I remember. At home, I rarely drink at all, but when i go to Vegas, typically 4 times per year, I dont draw a sober breath for 3 days! So, yeah, thats how I roll! I had a room at The Plaza for a couple nights and at Green Valley Ranch for a couple nights. Flew SWA out of Nashville, 4 hour flight, and got in at 11:00 am right on time. My host always sends a limo for me, but there was no text from the limo driver, and nobody holding a sign with my name on it. WTF? That has never happened before, but I wasnt going to call my host since I know he doesnt get to work until afternoon, so i hopped in a cab.

There was no cab line at all. Hopped in and told him to take me to The Plaza downtown. The cabbie, older white guy, who has been driving for a couple years, says, "You want me to take the interstate to avoid all the heavy traffic"? I said, "only if you want me to call the Taxi Authority and explain how I am being long hauled". He gives me a weird look and starts to say something and thinks better of it as i am giving him my "I am a crazy redneck with a couple dead hookers buried in my backyard and would love to add a cabbie to my collection of bodies". Instead, i tell him, "Its 11:00 am on Thursday, there is no traffic right now and you know it. Just take paradise down past the strip where it merges back into Las Vegas BLVD. Got it"? After that he was nice and friendly. And as predicted there was zero traffic! Quick trip and i was checking into The Plaza!

The Plaza gets panned on this board by many folks, but I love it! As soon as i walk in, the dealers, pit bosses, waitresses, and bartenders all know me and greet me by name. I get a comped mini suite, with a big comfortable bed, nice furniture, safe in the room, its the nicest room downtown. Checkin is quick and easy, put my stuff down and immediately start gambling downstairs at the tables. Drink service is always good there, which my tipping the waitresses every round at least $5 helps! The gambling Gods were good to me at The Plaza.

After a few hours of play, had some friends call and ask me to join them at some bar downtown. Mob bar maybe? It was on a closed side street straight in front of the Mob Museum I think. We sat at the bar and had a couple cocktails. Did a pub crawl up to some new bar called Commonwealth i think. It was a nice bar where we had a couple drinks. Stumbled over to El Cortez where we played some loud drunken blackjack. The pit bosses and dealers there were VERY nice for a change. Of course, losing black chips at the $3 table seems to make them nicer. I need to give them another chance after a couple bad experiences there. Stumbled down and played in the high limit room at the D and lost a few G's but enjoyed watching the girls dance. I think we may have played at the high limit room at Golden Gate this night too but not sure as I was hammered.

Then my friends want to go to strip club so I think we caught a cab to Treasures but not sure. It could have been OG, the Rhino, I have no recollection of where we were or how we got there. The rest is sort of a blur except I remember a couple of Russian dancers, rubbing their enormous titties all over me in the VIP, trying to get me to give them my credit card so I excused myself to go to the restroom and walked right out the front door. Caught a cab and went back downtown and gambled at the Plaza until 4 or so.

Woke up face down on my bed fully clothed with a hangover from hell about 7:30 am. My butthole was hurting, and I panicked thinking maybe Beejay was already in town and had roofied me to get at my goodie bag! But then recalled he wasnt here yet! Whew, close one! I do remember the girls dancing at The Plaza, well only 2 dancers there but both of them were fine! One young black girl with a GREAT body and one Asian with a lovely face! I loved them both! My host had called and left me a text. He said I left $1500 in black chips on the table last night and he put it in the cage for me. I had no clue about leaving any money anywhere but was thankful that they look out for a brother at The Plaza. The pitboss later told me that I said I was going to the restroom and just disappeared so he and my host got my chips and held them for me. Whew! That is a win boys!

    More later...

I hope you don't do that too often.
    It could get expensive!

Hop in the shower and walk the length of Fremont Street, slurping down some delicious Dunkin Donuts coffee, trying to kill my hangover. It was a little rough. I play video poker at a couple different places including The D and The Cal. Cant throw it in the ocean standing on the beach. Hit quads twice all weekend! Eat a donut and try to piece together the events of the night before and I know it will be a rinse and repeat of the next couple nights. A girl who works for me and her boyfriend got into town on Friday. We drank and gambled all day and night downtown. Ate at Island Sushi inside the Plaza for dinner. I love that place...part sushi bar/part Hawaian food. Try the poki!

We hit GG and The D hard and then back to the Plaza for several hours! Being the noobs they are, they couldnt hang and crashed out about 2;00 am. pfft...lightweights! I gave them my room so I needed to find somewhere to stay or just stay up all night which I can definitely do. I decided to go do some gambling at Main Street Station. I have not spent much time at all in that place before because their DDB poker is 9/5 when I can get 9/6 at every other casino downtown. The blackjack rules are good though and it gets great reviews on this board so I staggered over there.

I played blackjack until 5:00 am. The dealers, pit bosses, and cocktail waitresses were all great! I asked them for a room, and they just brought me a key, didnt even have to leave the table. Room 1625 I think facing toward the Plaza. The room was just ok...they have shutters rather than curtains. Not nearly as nice as the Plaza but they were fine. One thing of note...I filled out the online survey that they sent to me giving them very good marks but mentioning my issue with their video poker pay tables. The next day I got an email from their slot manager telling me he would fix that problem. First time I have ever had a property respond to me after filling out a survey. I assumed nobody read your comments/complaints...but they do at MSS.

The $1,500 is just staggering to me, but great they let you know.

MSS has 9/6 JOB, but yes sadly only 9/5 DDB, at least at the bar. I find myself walking over to The Cal more these days to play 9/6 DDB at the two downstairs bars. Not sure what Dave's has next to the sportsbook.

Funny coincidence, my brother was in room 1625 at MSS, April 20-22nd.

I am sure they have plenty of drunk people like me forget their chips and know what to do. My problem was that I play only at the $25 blackjack double deck table AND also at the double deck game at the Party Pit at the Plaza. I dont play at any of their lower limit tables. So, I may have gone to the restroom and stumbled back to the wrong table and said, "Fuck it" and just went to bed. That is just a theory, mind you.

Joe, I asked a couple folks at Boars Head Bar if their name was Joe. But alas, it wasnt you, unfortunately! One guy was with 3 very pretty women who were all probably early 40's, so I was PRAYING that was you!! Dam it! Maybe next trip we can meet up!

I was very impressed with the service at MSS. I played at a dd blackjack game for probably 3 hours in the early morning hours, and had one black lady dealer most of the time and I loved her! I cant recall her name but I like to laugh and make other people laugh and between us we had that place rollin! It was alot of fun!

So, I stagger up to my room at MSS, with all my chips I think, and crash until about 8:30. Call my friends, who are still asleep, WTF??, and tell them to meet me at DuPars for breakfast. They are amazed, and probably mortified that i can keep rolling with little sleep and so much booze. I have some comped meals there and eat at least one breakfast per trip there. I got my usual, Pancakes and eggs over easy. Yummy as always but the pancakes are too big for me to finish. I go get my stuff and since the lady who works for me has a rental, they drive me all the way over to Green Valley Ranch. I actually stayed here for one night last year on a business trip. But I didnt get to enjoy the property and only played some DDB vp that trip, and no table games. A host there had been trying to get me to stay there for awhile so I did want to go spend a night there.

Check in was fast. I got a room in the west tower over looking the pool. This property is BEAUTIFUL! It is REALLY REALLY nice! If anyone should charge a resort fee, it would be this place. The pool was f'n amazing and the waitresses at the pool left me speechless. Of course, I am probably old enough to be their Dad(I would pay alot of $$ to have them call me Daddy), so I tried to keep my natural inclination to flirt to a minimum. I was afraid Chris Hanson was going to jump out and say, "step over here sir, we need to talk".

I went to the high limit room and it was hoping but decided to find a double deck game out on the floor. Most of these people appear to be locals, and friendly, omg. Everybody was talking and having a good time. I couldnt quit making this side bet they have called "Lucky Lucky". I bet $25 on it every f'n hand in addition to my bet and hit it for 30-1 on 3 different times! It was fun! Dealers were nice, cocktail service was good. A massuese came by and gave me a massage at the table which felt great. A pretty diverse group of people actually...old, young, but obviously a bit more upscale than downtown. I have admit, I like this place. The one drawback being that it is WAY the fuck away from everything. It is in Henderson. More later...

After playing blackjack, hanging out at the pool, playing vp, I went and got cleaned up and went to a cafe there and had a chicken sandwich and a couple of beers sitting at the bar. I dont recall the name of the place but the food was good, and the bar had alot of beers and tv's with sports on. After dinner, and played blackjack again for a few hours. Then my friends showed up and wanted to go back downtown. Played all night at The Plaza again. Loud, drunken blackjack! Played craps too with a bunch of Mexican gangbangers. I am a stone cold peckerwood but speak fluent spanish/spanglish that I learned when I was in college in Texas! So I talked shit all night long in Spanish, clowning a couple of those guys while their buddies would laugh. I can fuck up English bad enough so my Spanish really is loaded with bad grammar. it was some funny shit! And we all made money! My host was there and introduced me to a couple of his other players. Stayed there until probably 5:00 am and caught a cab back to the GVR.

Woke up and got a couple of muffins and coffee from the cafe and played VP all morning with the worst buzzard luck ever. Hung out at the pool some more. Dam nice scenary out there fo sho! Decided to head home on Sunday afternoon. Trip was good. Broke about even for the trip but had a hell of a good time, met a ton of people, talked shit incessantly and drank for 3 straight days. Will do it again in a couple months. Peace Out!

I've found black chips squirreled away in pockets in my purse when returning home on occasion, but to my knowledge, I've never left a stack at the table. Glad the crew was looking out for you. Did you meet up with Beejay or Kydds? Steve mentioned he saw you on your birthday. Happy Belated Birthday!!

    Kudos to the Plaza

Any place that watches my chips and bags them for me because I am too inebriated would get my return business also.

GVR is way, way , way out there. I went there a long time ago and decided it is just too far away from the action and I love to drink, so no way could I drink because I would WANT to get in the car and go someplace else. That would put me on COPS.

Hey Bre! Yeah, I had some drinks with Kydds, Steve, et al. Good times for sure. I missed Beejay as I left before their crew got into town. When are you guys going to be back in Vegas? We need a big meetup this summer!

Yeah, its a long haul, and I drink way way too much to even consider driving. So I have to get cabs or limos to get around in Vegas. Driving is not an option even if I could remember where I left my car. Or chips!
