Head to the Bellagio, in a few days and the second trip in a year. Whats the best way to be introduced to a host? Should I contact VIP pre arrival services, who have handled all of my reservations, or should I wait until I arrive? Thanks!
Do you have a play history at B? Do you have status with MLife? If you have some history and/or a decent MLife status, you can try to contact one beforehand, or what's likely best is to go to either the player club or the HL area and ask to meet a host. What do you play and at what level?
My first trip, last year, earned Pearl status playing craps, about $50+ , per roll. I'm very close to Gold, and will definately reach Gold, next week. Acquired alot more Tier benefits than express comps. I play to play longer, than I did on my last 4 day trip. I may not be worth meeting a host, but I thought that I would get a few opinions. Thanks
If VIP didn't forward you to a host when you talked to them, there's no host for you. VIP is doing everything a host could do.
Still won't hurt to meet one. Just go to the VIP services office (between the cage and the mLife desk) and introduce yourself. That's what I did a couple years ago.
Was going to ask this same question. I have pretty decent status at CET and MGM (Platinum at both, was very close to Diamond at one point). I get free rooms at most of the hotels and I have a guy from Mandalay Bay (my usual destination) that emails me with offers but I am not sure if he is a host or just works for VIP services. I have been wondering if there is a lot to gain from introducing myself to a host. Would it help on back end comps? (I usually pay for all food etc). Any advice on the best way to go about speaking to a host? Thanks.
Yes, it helps to have a relationship with a host. The key is having someone actually review your play when you check out. If you have a relationship with a host, they should do that for you automatically. The guy who sends you your MB offers is your assigned host - his contact info should be on the emails. Otherwise, just call VIP/Casino Marketing and ask for him. But to be clear, if your play does not warrant additional comps, having a host wont help. ...and it will be hard to establish a "relationship" with a host unless you are at least approaching a mid level player who comes at least a couple times a year.
I was always under the assumption that the hosts will find you if they think your play warrants their services. I don't have any hosts per se (I'm only TR platinum), but I plan my trips to coincide with my brother's who plays fairly large and has several hosts at different properties, so his hosts have always taken care of me as well.
If you're big enough they'll find you. If you're at the low end of the host radar like me (average bet last trip, $114) then unless you're playing at a low end property, you probably won't get noticed. But I've had success calling.
I agree, the host will make an introduction and give you a business card. I didn't think my play warranted a host, but I was wrong. I haven't paid for a room in vegas in years.
