Playing at margaritaville casino guy in seat next to me hit the progressive wizard of oz for 1.452 million when I get back from Vegas ill post a picure of the win. This was about 11:30 this morning
Nice! I'd have a coronary on the spot. After 13 trips, I have yet to win more than $350 in one session at any game. I can only dream of being so lucky.
Both Margaritaville and Flamingo had a picture of this winner up on Facebook earlier today, but it appears to be taken down now? I wonder if the winner decided they want to stay anonoymous?
here is the picture I got of this win sorry for the delay in posting it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bq6vi3niaz63rul/IMAG0087.jpg P.S. hopefully this works
Sadly, some people have hit the potential big win many times before, but, they did not have max bet on the machine. If I did that, I would shoot myself.
That's awesome, always nice to see something like that. The biggest I ever saw was an elderly lady on a $.25 Wheel of Fortune slot about 9 years ago at a local Indian casino. She hit about $700k and was pretty much in shock and tears while all of the bells and whistles were going off.
What a picture. Sorry it wasn't your spin. It definitely wouldn't be mine either as I can't afford to bet $4/spin! I am surprised that was the payline arrangement to set off the progressive. Doesn't it have to be 5 Progressive symbols on a particular payline? If so, you'd think they would line them up at least...lol
I like the rather calm, computer display... No exclamation marks, just "Jackpot call attendant, HAND PAY $1,452,798.99"
While that would be awesome to win, and the initial moments or days would be great, until reality sets in and your account starts telling you about Uncle Sam. Depending on where you live, half of that is gone. I remember when I got a $33,000 hit once, and it was awesome, and then when I got home, my accountant is like "You realize that's like having a second job, right? You have to pay income tax on all that" Reality sucks
If you win $33,000 - I would guess you might have a bunch of losses to offset that. If your accountant did not tell you that, time to get a new one.
You can on your Federal return only if you itemize (and you better keep records if you want to survive an audit). $33K in losses would definitely result in one filing a Schedule A. A single $1,200 W-2 for a $0.25 RSF - it depends on whether the sum of your deductions exceed the standard deduction.. Many state returns (including the return filed in my soon to file bankruptcy state) do NOT allow you to itemize losses. You file on your Federal AGI, no deductions are allowed for losses. In Illinois, I pay 5% on all W-2G winnings (will likely rise to 7-10% before the decade is out) regardless on whether I ended up a net winner or loser.
The funniest thing about this hit was the guy said damn shouldnt that pay something. At that time I looked over and thats when the box popped up. He didnt get excited or anything he kind of went into shock I said holy shit congratulations and shook his hand. He said thanks then remained silent for a good 15-20 minutes afterward just looking at the screen. I played pay gow poker for a couple hours after that and when I left he was still sitting there waiting for the verification.
