Will be in vegas two weeks from today. plan on trying some baseball parlays. Do they use a point spread on parlays? thanks
If you use the parlay cards that the sports book has sitting around on the counters, then YES....they use point spreads. These are very unwise, IMO. Far too many chances to "tie" and lose. Use the games off the board, and bet with the money lines. These give you the best chance to make some cash. Regular season doesn't start til April 1st, by the way.
Other than the runline, I have never heard of point spread betting in baseball. Just moneyline and runline. Same goes for hockey. The runline is always 1.5, so there's no need to worry about ties with those.
There are lines on the exhibition games as long as it's not a split-squad game I don't remember ever seeing a run line on an exhibition game.
Interesting... I don't know that I'd bet exhibition baseball though. Two weeks from his post would put him in Vegas on the Saturday before the opening game on Sunday, March 31. So, not much of opportunity to bet on exhibition games before opening night.

Yep... but he better be flying in early... There are only 3 games that start after noon local and only a single game after 1pm. Not much of an opportunity to setup a parlay.
I will have to check that out because now I'm very curious... here's another question I failed to ask earlier. Why would you have to worry about a "tie and lose" on a parlay (quoted from your earlier post)? I never play those parlay cards, so there may be different rules for them. But, typically, a push on a parlay doesn't lose, it just drops down to the next payback.
You could very well be correct on the tie not losing. I've never looked at one of them that close, as I would never play one, but a lot of cards have the rule that "ties lose". (One of the reasons you don't want to play those cards!) Some places have ties win or reduce payoff, too. Now I wanna know, too! LOL!
Most parlay cards are not ties lose. They are +1 or -1. If you pick the favorite and they win 3-2 you lose. If they win 4-2 you win. if you pick the dog and they win 3-2 you win. They are a huge sucker bet. just bet money line parlays so your team only needs to win. Stay away from the cards on bball.
If you want to bet on baseball, and actually win tickets and some money.....forget about parlays and just go with straight bets.
Bet dogs straight up. Bet favorites on the runline. Favorites win by exactly one run less than 20% of the time.
