I was playing around and looking to book a room. For me, it looks like I do not pay resort fee when room is comped. I thought I read people saying this was for platinum and up only. I was platinum last year but no longer.

I put in for flamingo. I had first three night comped and one night was $24. After fee of $18 for the one night and taxes. $5.04. Total was $47.04.

So it seems they are not making me pay resort fee for comped nights.

I'm Gold Card. I get the same results. No resort fee on comped nights. Any nights NOT comped, they add the resort fee.

That seems fair to me. That's how (the nicer) MGM properties do it. I'm staying at Mandalay Bay this weekend and I have one comped night that I'm not paying a resort fee on.

Just curious. When I am looking on their site at nights. Sometimes it says FREE and sometimes it says COMP. Is their any difference?

I'm not sure its the same (we'll have to wait until someone stays one one).

The MGM resorts that don't charge you the fee on comps still give you access to the amenities.

Some of the comments from CET (this was for people at tiers, so it could be different on comps) seem to indicate that you don't get charged the fee upfront on a comp, but you are basically opted out, and would have to ask to pay the fee if you wanted the amenities.

Again, I'm not sure that's how it works, but it looks like it.

I have RIO and Bally's comped with no resort fee for 2013. When i go in May and Nov., i will use part of my bankroll at Monte Carlo to see if i get any comp offers from MiLife to use in 2014.

I haven't been able to get the reservation system to work since they announced the resort fees.

Maybe they can't decide if they want to make me pay them or not...

I just checked also and no resort fees on comped nights for this gold card holder.

I will also be giving time to the Monte Carlo the same as waverunner when I visit this summer. I know you quoted me before in a different thread and I have a question for you. I play around $40 a hand BJ, $10 craps table and some dollar slots. Around 5 hours a day. Are you close to that or higher?

    I booked last week

Specifically in advance of the 3/1 date and it appears that comped room did not include resort fee. The total read "$0.00". Still don't think its impossible that there will be some effort to impose them at check in or check out ... I suppose in the next month or so we will have some folks who can confirm or deny this.

I hardly play BJ and never play Craps. I mostly play Slots and for the most part pick certain machines. I usually play .25 slots then upgrade to $1. I always bet max and the reason why IMO i get so many comps (i'm comped the whole year Mon.-Thurs) is because my bankroll, $400 per day, is utilized in such a way that I and CET get what we want. My bankroll per day is set at a certain amount when i first go into a CET Casino. That $400 is gaining and losing for the entire day/night. That's what CET wants, they will eventually get the $400 back. CET gives me comps for the week because i am the type of Gold card player that is very profitable for them even though i am a low roller. It's called money mgmt. I will be at RIO in May, and Bally's in Nov. and i may book August because once again it's comped. In fact, i'm comped all the way till March 2014. That's why, IMO, for this Gold card member, CET is always happy to see me. The room they can give away, being a loyal CET customer for many years is priceless.........LOL.

We have similar bankrolls going about it different ways. I am with you Mon-Thurs comp nights. I have had that for a few years. CET does know how to take care of the low rollers like us. Give me a clean room and I am happy. Now that the bankroll is increasing I will spread my play to Mlife. Give an update on your Mlife play and offers and I will do the same.

I will, especially since the Mote Carlo was my home away from home since the grand opening up until i decided to go where the comp offers were. I actually stayed at Imperial Palace/Quad this past Nov. and lived to tell about it. Much ado about nothing. But i will use MiLife card, mostly at Monte Carlo where i like to eat, and then again in Nov., maybe August, to see if i get comps. But it's hard to change where i spend my money, especially being mid strip. I like the fact that after dinner, about 7 hotels are practically next door to each other and can go in or out depending where my luck is currently holding.

Back on their site playing around. Now today, they charged resort fees each day even if it was comped. Frustrating. Maybe it will change back. I dont know

I also see the fees. The total is listed as $0, but there is a note below that says Plus $18/NT DAILY RESORT FEE. (This was for the Flamingo).

I am heading to Vegas in May for a conference and am staying at Mandalay to be close but I am also taking a few extra days for vacation. I have a few comped nights at the Flamingo but also have enough points for a few free MGM nights through MyVegas. The $18 a night fee is enough to keep me on MGM properties the entire trip instead of showing some luv to CET.

Yesterday, mine said includes 18 dollars resort fee. So my total was $0. Now in the total it shows resort fees for every night. Now it is $100 dollars for 5 nights.
In the grand scheme of things this isnt horrible. But when compared to before it sucks. The reason I get the comps is because of the fact I pump enough money into the casino. Not because I use their internet and gym all the time.

For anyone who cares, when I try to make a reservation online now through TR.com I get a message stating "Waived $25/NT Daily Resort Fee." My girfriend's account yields the same result and she is Platinum. This alleviates many of my concerns.

Are you Platinum too, or Gold?

I am Platinum, and I am waved, but my wife is Gold, and it shows on TR.com for a resort fee.

By looking at the feedback, it seems that for Platinum and above the resort fees are waived. I'm reserved at Rio in May (booked reservation in NOV 2012) and I'm currently Platinum... My Platinum status ends this month so will be eager to see if I'm charged a resort fee even though my entire reservation is comped...
