I'm sure this had been discussed many times prior, but is it bad form switching hosts? I guess ive been extremely lucky in that the other properties I have awesome hosts from the start, but I feel like ive gotten a dud. I just had my first stay at the aria and I was assigned a random host. He does an adequated job, but maybe I've been spoiled by my other hosts at other properties.

The first time at the property during the CES show in jan I spent s couple days racking up about 350k points. Went on a slight bender but ended up doing well. Had about 4 to 5 host give me their cards. However when settling my account I find a host assigned to me and caught me leaving the hosta office. Had a 5 min talk and left for home.

Thus for my next trip, I booked my reservation through him. Although im new to mlife, I thought racking up 350k point in 7 hrs I should be able to do a little better than a regular sky suite room. I didnt say anything and figured I'll give it a go since I've never stayed at aria before. Since he works graveyard shift, it was difficylt for me to get a hold of him. He's never in front of a compurter when he replies its always I'll find out.

For my first trip, I had to remind him I needed a limo pickup despite all sky suite guest have complimentary airpirt service. Upon arrival and my visit to the host office, my host isnt in im told I do not have rfb and they would comp based on my play. No problem, ill just give them some action.

Now its 2 days into my trip. When he finally tries to get a hold of me. At this point im around 700k points. Ive been jibing the pit supervisors that the aria is supertight on comps and I could not even get a buffet. It was on these notes that my host reaches out to me that now im rfb. I only have 1 more night to go. So I ask him im thinking about going to jasmine at the bellagio. Could he comp it for me? His response is no problem charge it to the room.....

Wow...even as a lowly gold member of CET my host has always offered toake the reservation for me. I figured okay...maybe hes the VP of player development and is too busy....

Well half way through my dinner, he then calls to ask, can he make a reservation for me.... at least he tried????

Like I said above, maybe ive been spoiled by my other hosts, but it seems my host there seems a bit behind the curve. Ive spent a total in $130 in FB while racking up 830k points in 2 trips. I figured at least id get some money back for airfare. Now im told airfare is only for trips where you lose money......

Am I missing something? Id also like a host that would be availavble dueing the houra that im at the casino. I have cards for Art brascia, gene baratta, and linda hong. Since ive only gone through him once, would it cause a stir if I requwsted a change? I know that for other properties after a coupke reservatioms you are coded to a specific host and any changes woyld have to be approved by upper managent.

Sounds like you and your host don't quite jive...should be no problem to ask for a different host. You can use the shift as your excuse, tell them you are usually sleeping during those hours and want someone on day or swing shift.

As for what you've experienced...the Aria sky suite is in-line with your action, you could definitely be enjoying more dining. The host is correct, airfare is only if you rack up a big loss and almost always reqires a line of credit. You could probably ask for some freeplay/promo chips though, maybe $500 or so, nothing great.

I inquired at Mandalay Bay about how you go about changing your host (my friend has a host he doesn't like and wants to switch to my host who is the best), I was told you just have to send an email to VIP services and tell them you want a different host assigned to you. That is really the only way to switch. Another host can not just take you in as their player. So send an email and just tell them you want a different host, if you have one in mind then include that in your email.

When you say VIP Services who do you mean? The director? Speaking of MB hosts I want to switch mine there. Who do I send an email to request the new host?

that's not really true. airfare is based on theo vs comps spent. if you have unused theo, it's entirely up to the host on what he wants to give you. some are really stingy and try to keep you undercomped and will tell you that they can only give a discount on a loss. good hosts will throw some cash your way if you have extra unused theo.

That is what I thought....however the several hosts I spoke to at the aria said airfare was only on losing trips. Originally that is why for the room and FB I purposely keept very low to get the maximum reimbursement.

I put up 14 hrs at an ave of $4, 445 total. This a bit higher than my usual (thanks Mr Nascar driver.....) due to an unexpected gambling bromance. All I had was 3 nights comped in a standard room on the suites side and 1 single dinner of close to $130. Host didnt pick up the grat either. If this is the standard comp rate at aria, I'm not sure id be back. Generally I'm rfb in salon suite and the ocassional fairway villa at the wyncore and penthouse at the cosmo. Wynn has been pulling back on hard comps, but the cosmo is still good with the exception of pooorer bj rules towards the end of last year.

Ironically, I just started playing DD recently and I played that almost exclusively. I guess my action was too erratic for them. Id be betting black to max white. They definitely thought something weird as they kept calling checks play on white when im playing them almost every other hand. Im too dumb to count cards and Mr nascar next to me goes in and out 2 - 3 hands at $25k a piece and they dont bat an eye....go figure.

Ive had extremely good luck there and they refuse to raise my max bet. VP says I need a $500k cl to have my max bet on DD increased and they say I havent given them enough action to warrant an increase. No thanks... I guess ill try the mgm or B next. I still get the best treagment at cosmo but with the new bj rules am hunting for a new home base....wynn is also no good for DD compared to mgm props.

You can call this number: Mandalay Bay VIP 702-632-7800 and ask them who exactly you direct the email to.

When I changed my host I wound up talking to the director of slot operations. After telling him I didn't like the host I was assigned and I was going to concentrate my play at V/P or Wynn/Encore instead he hooked me up with my current host.

all I can say is you got fucked big time. 14 hrs at 4500 avg bet is like 40k theo. you should have gotten at least 4k airfare on top of a panoramic penthouse sky suite and thousands in RFB. you earned like 15k in comps.

shoot me a PM and i'll get you in touch with a great host at MGM that will put you in a nice Skyloft or maybe a 1BR Mansion on an off weekend and will give you the airfare you deserve even if you book a win.
