All this talk of Steakhouses has me craving a nice steakhouse meal out in Vegas when we visit. However, I'm not really up for dumping $300 on a meal for two. As much as I'd love to try Craftsteak, I'm not sure I want to pay their prices.

What are your thoughts of a good quality steak, not a chain, that will put us more in the $100 - $150 range for steak and sides for two, no alcoholic beverages.

A nice place, but I don't want to have to get all dressed up and fancy to eat there. This is during the week, and downtown or a cab ride away is ok.

Always trust the opinions of the folks on here. Let the debate begin!

We just ate at Old Homestead and they have Porterhouse for 2 for around $100
you could split a salad and one or 2 sides for around $150. It was a very good meal.
We had 5 people and bill was about $420 before tip.

I like the Flame Steakhouse at the El Cortez for the price. If you buy the American Casino Guide their is a 50% off coupon in the book.

I would go to Orleanscasino.com and look at the menu for the Prime Rib Loft....not sure about current prices but you won't be disappointed with the steak.....and it won't be close to 125 for 2 without alcohol........just lots of appetizers.....!!

I never pay but when I look at the menu it seems similar to prices at home....good luck....

I'm not sure if this is your best value, but you could eat at Gallagher's, get a couple of dry aged new york strips and a couple of sides and walk out for under $150. So if that's your price range, I highly recommend it.

Circus circus steakhouse for $100 you can get steaks and they come with the sides and the quality is as good or better then many of the steakhouse costing 3x more. Don't let the location deter you yes the casino is a dump but the steakhouse is nice with excellent food. If it was in one of the nicer resorts the cost would be like other top steakhouses.

My aunt gets comped a suite at Gold Coast and $75 dining credit per day and it was my brother, my aunt and myself all eating steaks and drinks at the steak place inside and she still had enough of her credit to leave a tip out of it. And It was pretty good.

You mean the Cortez Room. It is indeed a good value and two people could dine well there for $50 or so. But I think for the OP's budget, there are places that would be even better. The best place I've been to in that range has been Bally's Steakhouse.

Seriously consider the Redwood Grill Downtown in the California Hotel. Prices for steak ranges from 30.00 to around 70.00.

The ambiance inside is warm and cozy. Tables are spaced out to permit a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Service is good and attentive. I would say that the Redwood Grill promotes fine dining in a casual setting.

Value wise the Redwood Grill ranks up there with the other fine establishments mentioned so far.

They also have awesome surf and turf menu items if thats your fancy.

I would also give Gallagher's a shot. Very good cuts, portion size. You could get a salad or a side along with your beef for most definitely $150 for a couple.

Tender, nuff said. :) 150 will easily get you two meals with wine, app and dessert. I reccomend the Bison Ribeye myself or for a real change the Wild Game platter, either way in 9 meals there we have nevr once been let down.

Tender is a good choice. My pick is Brand at Monte Carlo. They have a stellar 40oz porterhouse for two and it comes with a side ($85).

I ate at Brand once about a year ago and really thought it was sub-par. Relative in price to some of the other places but not in quality.

It's been a long time since I've eaten at any of the steakhouses in Vegas, but my bride and I had a honeymoon dinner at Top of the World in the Tower at The STRAT . I just checked prices, and for 2 steaks and sides it's about $135 or so....It was a very good meal and we ate at around sundown, and the views of the Las Vegas Valley were incredible! I've also eaten at Gallaghers and what used to be called The Steakhouse at Luxor. Gallaghers was very good, while at Luxor it was very late (right near closing) and it was still pretty darn good. Don't know since they've changed the name if it's still the same or not.

Too bad there's not a Ruth's Chris yet in Vegas. That was probably the best steak I've ever had
