We are headed to Aria in a few days. It will be our first stay there, we usually stay at MGM or Cosmo. Any great hotel tips? Restaurants? Fun Bars? Best slots?

Make sure you rub the belly on that Buddha in there for luck!

Last trip there, the 2 people in my party that did that, just so happened to be the only 2 that won in our group! :poke:

Was just there. Ate at lemongrass. Very, very good and a lot of food. Each thing we ordered inc soup was enough for 2 easy and maybe 3.

Jean Georges steak house is one of the best if not the best in vegas. Very expensive but people I know who are real food connoisseurs swear by it. I am not that sophisticated so the palm, ruth's chris, mortons, craftsteak are all pretty much the same to me.

The slots around the players club have been good to me and I've seen quite a few jackpots in that area.

They recently changed the carpeting at Aria and added some new wall coverings that help reduce the echo they used to have.

I love the cheese danishes at Jean Philippe with a coffee for bkfst in the morning. Julian Serrano's wins my vote every time for dinner or lunch. The tapas there are outstanding. If you are looking for some comfort food, then I recommend the chicken pot pie at Todd's English Pub.

Food and service at the coffee shop are hit or miss at best.....

Have fun and good luck! The rooms are fabulous and the bed is amazing!

I second the recommendation for Lemongrass. One of the very, very few mass-market Thai restaurants I've been to where the default cutlery is a spoon and fork instead of chopsticks. I give them extra points for the authenticity.

Thanks for all of the input! What is the general consensus about Sage? Has anyone tried the absinthe cart?

Learn how to use the remote for the lights and curtains before you go to sleep! It's not easy to figure out in the middle of the night if you have had a few cocktails :)

I am also a fan of Julian Serrano's if you like to try and share different dishes. If you check out the remodeled buffet, please let us know how it is.

Stop in the View Bar right off the checkin area. In the evening they have a piano player (which I cannot stand), but if you sit at the bar, the bartenders Robert and Diane (on the weekends) are awesome! They have this drink called "The Diva" that I look forward to every time I'm at Aria.

I would also recommend Sage and Julian Serrano. I happened to eat in Sage one night when Julian Serrano was closed. I ate at the bar and had the $59 tasting menu and it was delicious! If the other place hadn't been closed, I never would have eaten at Sage. It's really dark in there, but a great atmosphere for a couple/a date.

Also, if you like sushi, there's a tasting menu at Barmasa from 5 - 7pm that gives a great sampling of their menu for only $49.

    Good luck and enjoy!

Ask for a room near the elevators, otherwise it can be a long walk to your room.

Gelato at Jean Philippe is yummy. Try the Super Fruit Fizz cocktail at Bar Moderno. Have fun!

A number of places have early dining prices. If eating dinner before 7 is acceptable, Jean Georges and Sage both have great specials.

I am a huge Aria fan, if you are a craps player I HIGHLY recommend playing there, the dealers are very very friendly and the action can be really good at night. I also agree with the above posts Jean Georges Steakhouse is absolutely phenomenal. I've had both the porterhouse and the filet there, both were absolutely perfect. (I like both fatty and lean steaks, depending on my mood) and in this case both sides of the spectrum were out of this world.

My best meal there was actually the time I got the filet. Started the meal with a sushi appetizer (very good), a Manhattan made with Aria's signature Woodford Reserve, then my delicious filet mignon, and wrapped everything up with a Glenlivet 18 year and then hit the craps tables....probably the best meal in my life not only was the food excellent, the service was impeccable, the ambience was very relaxing but didn't put me to sleep, and I guess it didn't hurt that I then went on a 40 minute craps hot streak  - I will say this, with all the items mentioned above with tax the meal was about $130 before the tip.

I think you will have a good time just walking around Aria too, if you are a sports fanatic and are looking for a simple lunch, I highly recommend going to Sky Box and getting yourself a club sandwich - they are excellent.

    Have fun!

Sky Box, from what I understand, is no more.
I think thats where they're opening Five50, or whatever that new pizza place is called.

Noooooo :grrr: Well, I hope the pizza is delicious, that atmosphere with all the TVs is really cool anyway, hopefully they keep all of that.

LOVE Aria! Jean Philippe - Coffee is worth the price...much better than Starbucks. Good place to use express comps. Great also for a late night gelato or crepe! Buffet is good -- a bit of Asian flair and lots of seafood. As mentioned before, ask for a room closer to the elevators and figure out your shades and lighting controls before you start drinking....

You can walk through an inside "tunnel" to Monte Carlo and there are some shops in there and a few places to eat.

    Have fun!
