I received an offer from the Mirage that included limo transportation to/from the airport. I have 2 questions:
    - Can I book the room and then call back with flight info? This offer is good any time from Jan thru May but I have to book by Jan 31. I'll probably travel in April. I'm hoping the fares will drop so not planning to book the flight anytime soon.
    - What is the normal driver tip for a person arriving solo?

Thanks in advance for the information.

Yes. Once your flight is booked, just let casino marketing know your flight number and arrival time

$20 is the normal tip for a comped limo as far as I've experienced. However you shouldn't feel any reservations tipping less if you think that would be more appropriate.

DO NOT under any circumstance tip less that $20. That said, I rarely tip more than $35, even if they have a long wait. Airport pickups suck for these guys compared to other ordinary drop offs...

Thank you all for the replies. It seems reasonable to tip about the price of a cab ride so in the $20 range. I just hope after reading the rumor about Mirage being sold that I can still take advantage of this offer. Just my luck I finally get a decent offer and they take Mirage off the list.

If your Mirage offer is the same as mine, and it sounds like it is, it's a direct offer from Mirage. I can't imagine why there would there would be a problem. I am planning on booking mine too before the 1/31 deadline.

If it is like my Vdara offer then you can either call them and let them know or they will call you a week before you leave and ask for the information.

What do people normally tip for short trips? Like MGM to Bellagio?

I had an Aria limo pick me up at MBay and take me to Sky Suites in Nov.
    I tipped $20.
I feel guilty tipping less than $20 in a limo.
    It's probably just me.

for any ride on the strip, whether next door or to TI, i tip $20. To or from the airport, $30 usually. To or from Downtown, $40.

Do any of you know if the Aria hotel limo will make two different airport pickups if a limo pickup is included with our suite reservation? Or should I just give a much larger tip to the driver and ask him to do another pickup later? My girlfriend and I are taking separate flights.

If you need more than one limo pickup, arrange that with your host ahead of time. You won't be able to tell the driver to return later, he's on a schedule.

As for the tipping...I generally tip $20 for solo and $10 for each additional person or bag with me. Getting a limo ride that doesn't include the airport is definitely less effort for the driver, but I normally tip about the same. I guess that evens it out in the long run if my airport tipping is on the cheap side.

I usually tip $20 as well when I get a limo pickup but I once tipped only $10 because I was alone and it was the only bill I had less than $100. Seemed to make no difference to the driver. Hotel limo pickups have become so common now, offered to even low-mid rollers like me when I book through a host -- so I think they're used to small tips ($10-$20), big tips (> $50), and even no tips.

From my understanding of the MGM resorts limo service it's not like your limo driver is sent from say Aria to McCarran to pick you up and back, they have a bunch of MGM Resorts limos at the airport, an MGM greeter meets you at the baggage area and then he takes you to your limo and driver who then brings you to your hotel.

That's how its worked for me 3 different times. The last time I came in to Vegas which was 2 weeks ago, I didn't set up limo service beforehand so when I got to the baggage area I went to the MGM Grand desk that they have there and spoke to the lady behind the desk. I told her I was going to MB and wanted a limo, I gave her my ID and noir card, she made a phone call, and 5 minutes later she walked me downstairs to the limo area, introduced me to the driver and off we went. I tipped her $10 for setting it up and walking me down to the limo and $20 to the driver when I got out at Mandalay Bay.

I should also add that I had the driver stop at Von's on Tropicana so I could pick up some booze and drinks and he had no problem whatsoever doing it.

I didn't think about asking them to stop to buy diet coke. I would love to have my own stash that costs less than $3 a bottle. Thanks for the idea.

The CET limos work the same way and frankly I think their fleets have just gotten bigger which is why limo pickups have become pretty common for players at all levels -- and since they are already stationed at the airport there is no need to feel obligated to tip them higher than your norm for making the drive out to pick you up.

My limo driver from Hotel32 has always met me in baggage with my name on a sign. Although my driver was from Bellagio the last time dropping me off at Hotel32/Monte Carlo
