Aliante Casino now has one host with another starting soon. It will be interesting to see what they will offer Wifey and I to come back in May, 2013. We are at President status with Stations through the end of June, 2013. At Aliante, the closest level to Stations 'President' status is their 'Celebrity' status but that's harder to achieve than President status at Stations. Stations requires $100,000 cycled through while Aliante requires $120,000 cycled through. That's 20% more which seems like a lot. I can cycle through $100,000 at Stations over an 8 day stay but there's no way I could cycle through $120,000 over 8 days. I will contact a Aliante host around March 1st and see what they can offer for an 8 day/night stay in May. I will also contact our host at GVR to see what they can offer us for the same time period.

    Regards,
    Cruiser

I would think with that play the Aliant would give you whatever you want.

I like the casino in the summer time. Nice pool and relaxing atmosphere.

Aliante Gaming LLC is the owner. This company was formed back in November of 2011, by the Stations' creditors who took over the property when Stations came out of bankruptcy. Stations had a contract to manage the place for a year, ending 11/1/12.

Not quite, Cruiser plays FPDW almost exclusively, so they aren't as generous as you may think.

Yes, our last trip was 8 days/nights at Aliante Station in October, 2012. It was a brutal beating and Wifey said no trip report. We were due for a beating and that's exactly what we got. The good news was that not only did Aliante Station comp all 8 nights, they also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the airport. Oh, and all food charges to the room were also comped. Did I mention, it was a brutal beating? It would have been much worse if I didn't get our only Royal of the trip on the morning of day 9 just before heading to the airport.

Steve, sorry to hear about the "brutal beating". Video Poker has a way of doing that. Hope your next trip will be one of the good ones. Jim and Kathy

"I will also contact our host at GVR to see what they can offer us for the same time period."

Steve, a word of warning ... the story is that Stations have now changed the point structure on the 100% machines. Instead of earning 3 points for every $4 coin-in, it's now $12 coin-in to earn 3 points. :(

Aliante is my local casino and I know that they are trying after the takeover, but there are problems.

First, addressing the concern about card status. They have posted that up through this Dec. 31, your tier points are tripled to maintain your status. So, if you get 33,333 points, you will remain HEADLINER (purple and top level). I believe only 10,000 points is CELEBRITY. But I think this all changes on January 1st. Not sure.

I have hit two jackpots since the takeover last November. On the second day, I hit $3000 plus on a DOUBLE BUCKS in High Limit (I got the five coin wads that signal free games). I didn't think it was much until after I had played the 10 free games, then the screen lit up and told me of my jackpot. It was a nice start of the new Aliante. I also hit on a penny machine (was playing 2cents at 6 dollars per spin) and hit $2000. Nice.

But, I have gone to the player's club to ask for a comp to MARKET twice and they made me wait (too long) for someone to come and see about it. So, I never got a comp. We'll see what happens now that they have hosts. The staff is very concerned and tells me that they need more workers to make a go of it. If they want to keep "high rollers" they need to start taking care of food comps. Having said that, I will go back and gamble there since I am still hitting jackpots.

    Sue,

That's terrible. That's basically going back to the old way of earning points on the 100% machines ($4 coin in = 1 point). I sure hope the Status Credits at Stations is still $1 coin in = 1 Status Credit. Otherwise, we couldn't maintain President level.

I'm not opposed to giving the new Aliante Casino a chance but if they don't offer us anything to return in May 2013, I will have to check with our host at GVR to see what she can offer us.

    Regards,
    Cruiser

    Sue,

Is the $12 equals 3 points in play now at stations?

Since you are penalized for playing full play, in other words it take more money to earn points, why are they slow on the comps, since you play more money.

Is this more for locals or out of towners.

All I know is what I read on the LVA forums -- that the new $12 thing started December 19th.

As far as comps go, they don't look only at how much money you played, but more important -- your "theo," which is much lower when you play 100% machines.

I don't think it has anything to do with whether you're a local or not.

    Sue,

Happy New Year! You're correct. On the 100% VP machines at Station Casinos, instead of earning 3 points for every $4 coin-in, it's now $12 coin-in to earn 3 points. The 100% VP machines are also not eligible for point multipliers and free play cannot be downloaded on 100% machines. I sure hope Aliante offers us something good to return in May.

I'm also hoping that when Aliante finishes with their website (still under construction), it'll include their Host(s) along with contact info.

    Regards,
    Cruiser
