    Hey all,

I am looking at a Vegas trip for 2013.

The rate calendar is coming up with better prices than the 'Special rate codes that are in my Total rewards offers.

My Total Reward offers (if I try to use them) at many properties and many dates - yes I am lookign at the right month for the corresponding offer, often says 'No Offer' on every day of the month.

I am no longer getting ANY nights at any hotel comped. I am not a big spender and I spent less money at CET last trip.

Flamingo, Ballys and IP (now The Quad) used to give almost every day free.

Are they weeding out the low rollers? Are they restructuring? Was my play so minimal that I got cut?

Typically I have gone over the May long weekend, or Easter weekend and, once a year. 3 years ago I decided to target my play at mostly CET props. That generated free rooms for 2011 & 2012. In 2012 we brought a first timer...so we spread out a bit more = no comp rooms?

Is there more at play that I don't know about?

I usually get better offers (including comps) from the rate calendar than the offers.

I also find booking the offers kind of clunky. Sometimes they won't show up in the calendar but if you pick exact dates it will let you book them (happened with me for Caesars Windsor booking).

I have always gotten better rates in the calendar than in my offers. Because of this I have completely disregarded all offers that I receive from CET and just book through the rate calendar which regularly comps me at most if not all CET properties. I am by no means a High Roller, 4 day trip usually bring about $2000 and play $25 blackjack and $50 pai gow.

So would it be better to play longer at lower denominations or shorter at higher denominations?

I personally have recently moved to the $25 hands because from what I have heard everywhere, this board included is that if you aren't playing $25 a hand at table games the casino won't take notice or care to take notice that you are there. So my suggestion would be to do at least that and play $25 minimum at the tables. It's regularly got my free CET rooms at most if not all properties (Caesars is usually the exception if any) and results in $30-40 in Rewards Credits by the end of my trip.

That seems like a large bet for a $2000 bankroll. How many hours do you get out of that?

How much are you willing to lose in a sitting?

That's my average bankroll from my trips including my first ever Vegas trip that consisted of $900 for food drink and all lol. Now its closer to $3000 a trip. usually there 4 days so plan $750 a day, $250 a session (if I don't win at all that is). The casino is designed to take your money over the long term so I get in and get out from games, no reason to sit at a blackjack table more that probably 45 minutes unless you are on a serious heater. Play mostly blackjack so it can go fast but also play pai gow and $250 for $25-50 hands can last 5+ hours.

Wish I had more of a bankroll but I am a law student and don't have the funds yet but hope I will one day. As far as the way my play goes with those numbers, CET takes great care of me as a result. I am 25 so I don't spend much time in my room, maybe 2-4 hours a day so the Hollywood Hip Room at Planet Hollywood or the Red Rooms at Paris that I get comped are more than enough for me and who knows what you can get with a $20 tip at check in.

I used the rate calendar before I signed in to the Total Rewards website, and after - and the difference they are giving me as a total rewards member is $8 ($2 less per night than if I wasn't a member)...YIKES!
