Hey everybody, I am new to the forums and saying hi from Switzerland. I have a solo trip to Vegas upcoming in February and thought I couldn't hurt to get to know some people via these forums. So guess I am gonna hang around here for a bit, catch the vibe and get to know you guys. Also looking for some advice, but I will out together another post for that... Cheers!
Switzerland??? How cool!!! Welcome!!! Hope you get lots of Vegas tips and insight from the gang and please be sure to share a recap of your trip with us, as it helps us all get thru those dreary times when we're not in the town we all love.
Welcome. Hope you enjoy the board as much as I do. VMB is chock full of great info and super nice people to share their knowledge and experiences with you. Have fun!,
Welcome to the board! Man your flight time to Vegas is even longer than mine lol Well worth it in the end tho as it is truly the most amazing place on Earth, but im maybe just a bit biased altho im sure there will be more than a few folks on here that agree with me! Lots of nice friendly people on here who will be only too happy to answer any Las Vegas based questions you have
Thanks for the welcome! Not by much though, we may share much of the route actually (on different dates though) Are you taking the BA275 from Heathrow? Best was to get to Veags IMHO...
Here's what most Americans think they know about Switzerland: All of their cheese has holes in it. Ricolaaaa... Chocolate served at every meal. Everybody lives on a mountain. Watches are all made there. Everybody is neutral about everything. Best hot chocolate comes from there. Now, what are the Swiss people's perceptions about Americans?
Aye thats the very one, direct flight is defo the way to go, I did a stopover once via Newark but direct from London is way batter, direct from Glasgow now that would be WAAAAAAY better but sadly direct flights to Vegas from Glasgow are very few and far between.
Alright, let's do this: Definitely not true, we have all kinds! ... I'll call that kinda true. To be more accurate, we really like our desserts... WRONG! We all live in the valleys BETWEEN the mountains. Only the best ones. Crappy ones come from China... I neither agree nor disagree with this statement. Don't tell anyone I said that, but for the best hot chocolcate, go to Vienna, Austria. Let me caution you that we don't know a lot about places beyond our mountains. Let's see what comes to mind: - McDonalds and Starbucks - Thanksgiving turkey dinner - Obesity - inner city streetball courts - long straight lonesome desert roads - megalomaniac sheriffs / police officers with Ray Bans - SUVs - picket fences - friendliness I am trying to ignore the perception conveyed through the media for the last couple of months. Let's just say it has been unfavorable and unfair to the vast majority of Americans, but a few looney tunes among your politicans are conveyed as representative of the American population.
Hah, that reminds me. Some Swiss politicans got really mad about that "Swiss bank account" music video "Romney girl". The even went to the US ambassador about it. In my opinion, after decades of facilitating tax evasion, we have no right to be sensitive about a jab or two on that issue.
