I know Baccarat is rated on a per shoe basis. Do casinos compensate somehow when rating you for Pai Gow since it is a slow game?
The calculation for rating PGP is similar to that of Blackjack, ie Bet Per Hand X Hands/Hour X House Edge, so they take account for the pace of the game. This is functionally the same as counting the number of shoes since each hand uses the entire "shoe" The number I've seen used for Hands per Hour is 45 vs something like 65 for Blackjack.
Pai Gow Poker does rate slower than most if not all other table games, but if you play enough it still adds up. I should make Diamond level this year and over 90% of my playing time is at Pai Gow Poker.
$25 is the minimum in Cleveland. I'd say my average is $30. There was one day this summer some lady kept putting anywhere from $300 to $600 on top of my $30 for over an hour. I got like 600 points that day! Plus she kept paying my commissions!
