Well, it's only 18 short days until our 3rd trip to Vegas, getting excited! I have a couple questions.. I thought I would ask as who else knows better??

First - Temps in Nov - (went in May, Sept)

Looked online and am aware that temps are about 60's in day / 40's eve? We are from Florida.. and have become wimpy... ! Planning on layers, jeans.. light jackets?? my husband has a nice sport coat he couldn't wear as it was just too warm in Sept. I'm thinking that should suffice?? Right? We usually walk the strip a little, like to be out in evening people watching, have an ATV ride planned ..
Wondered do the casino's make it much warmer inside? In Sept I was very cold as the AC was blasted everywhere, here in Fl most all places blast the AC, so really you only travel from AC to AC - then bake in the heat on the beach (or in your car)... so my question.. I know the cold is subjective - but are the casino's warmer d/t the fact that it's colder outside? and does anythink it really gets very cold? We are planning on carry-on's only, so will not have tons of room - leading me to my next question.

    Second -

Tips for packing carry-on? We usually fly SW so check 2 bags, this time we got some great RT deals on United, and do not want to pay to check-in luggage. We are there 4 nights, I am ALWAYS overpacking, so this is a challenge for me. Tips? advice anyone on taking just carry-on?

    I have never been hot in a casino-temperature wise:evillaugh

My wife carries a cover-up with her, no matter what time of the year while in Vegas.

No guarantee, but go here, plug in your dates and at least get an idea of weather history:

I always take just carryon, even though it wouldn't cost me anthing to check baggage on Delta. Like Joe, I've never been too warm in a casino, but have sure been too cold, especially in the summer. They keep the temps like meat lockers.

It's always tough packing in the spring and fall, so about all you can do is check several different forecasts as trip time appraches. I've been in Vegas since Tuesday and still haven't worn the light sweaters I packed as the high temps been in the low 80's. Still cold in some casinos, however, so I'm glad I brought my hoodie.

My packing tips will have to wait until after I return next Tuesday - I hate typing on a smartphone.

I am from Florida and will be in Vegas about the same time as you will. I am not very sensitive to the cold, but I am fine with just a long sleeve shirt and an undershirt most of the time. I also bring a wind breaker for walking around outside during the day.

I find that the temperatures inside the casinos are pretty much the same year round, so it feels warmer in the Fall / Winter months and colder in the Spring / Summer months.

After many trips to Vegas, I've learned to pack light. If you find that you need additional clothing, there is a mall in every other casino or FSM for you to pick something up.

Here are my tips for packing light/carryon only:

Jeans can be worn more than once (underwear however cannot, even if turned inside out!)

Shoes are space hog, try not to bring too many. And always stuff your shoes to make use of the space.

Oh, a hard sided carryon is awesome for cramming stuff in. My hard sided Samsonite rolling carryon (real hard sided, not that flexible crap they have now) is usually heavier than my large suitcase when I'm done with it.

Wear your thick/heavy clothes on the plane as well as your jacket to save space carryon. You can always cram the jacket into the overhead bin once on the plane.

If you’re a laptop trekker like I used to be then switch to a tablet. I'm soo much lighter these days.

Find things that you can grab onsite lieu of packing them (saline, snacks, sunscreen etc.)

Pack thin but warm clothes - I know this sounds like a duh, but where I could easily go all jeans I know that my khaki's pack much thinner than the jeans. Pack the khaki's and wear the jeans on the plane.

Maximize your carry-ons. You are allowed (on southwest anyways) a carry-on and a "personal item". Personal items can actually be much bigger than your purse. Make sure you get one that you can pack a bunch of stuff in as well as your purse (because otherwise your purse would count as one). For guys, the max size rolling carry-on as well as a decent size backpack or brief case is a good combo for max space.

And here is a tip your husband will kill me for: don't get stuck in the "my two bags" and "his two bags" mentality. If he's good at packing light then put some of your stuff in his carryon :wink2:

Oh no way, you've never heard that? It's one of those cliche jokes around here poking fun at how bad guys are.

Hello! I'll be at Vegas around the same time of yours. Vegas can become windy in November and the temperature may drop to 40s or 50s at night. I'll pack long-sleeve shirts, comfy pants, vest, one sweater with front zipper, and a light jacket. It's pretty hard for female traveler to take just a carry-on. I always pack wisely and check "just one roller bag" which can nicely fit my 2 pairs of shoes, cosmetic bag, personal toiletries (more than 3 oz in size), etc.

Agree 110%! Can't and never re-wear the same undies, socks, etc. By the way, Happy 60th Birthday to Joe (just notice it from your countdown clock)! Will you have a birthday celebration party at Vegas? If so, please PM me. I certainly want to join y'all and wish you the very best luck.
