This line is an absolute gift.

Everyone assumes the Saints will not have a record of 0-5 after this game. Why not? There isn't any sound reasoning for this.
Even if they don't, they won't win by more than a field goal.

The Chargers are the better team. Their speed pass rushers will excel on the artificial surface of the Superdome.

This game is a nationally televised showcase on Sunday night, so San Diego will be just as focused as New Orleans.

San Diego +4 (MGM properties). +3.5 is ok too.

the problem is SD isn't a quality team. it's a crapshoot whether they will show up or not.

Ditto. N'awlins is still potent. This one is a tossup.

Normally I would not wager on a team coming off a division road win like the Chargers are.

This is mitigated by two things.

First, it is a Sunday night game. If this was an afternoon game, I am not sure I would have made this wager. Since it is a Sunday night game, the Chargers will show up. It is not a coincidence that Sunday night football games are always close and exciting. All teams want to play well in this game. The Chargers do not even have to win this game for the wager to win.

Second, this is an interconference game. Home teams don't seem to be as motivated in these types of games. See New England versus Arizona earlier this year.

    27-24 Chargers.

    +170.

This is not a bad wager either.

I think the Saints not having their head coach is hurting them more than people realize.

The Saints defense is ranked #32 (last) overall and against the run.

    The Saints are 0-4. 0-4 is 0-4.

The Sainta have a few angles going for them in this game..
Motivation to win a game heading into the bye week

The suspended coaches and GM will be in attendance at the game per Brees's request to the NFL and granted.
He probably will break Johnny U's record of 48 straight games with a TD pass, hence the request.Does the team
get added motivation with the orginal coaches there/

Also it is Sproles first time facing his old team and adds motivation..

That said,a Fantasy site I trust calls the game SD 30-27 with a good running game winning it for SD.
I'm much rather see Gates and Floyd get the TD's but I'll be rooting for the Bolts to control TOP and keep Brees off the field..
I would love SD on a teaser parlay card and even take N.O on the other side and middle it..Could be one of those games.

If it is a gift line like you said, jump on it for some serious cash.

I am glad this was posted.

I never said this a lock. I wouldn't place an extraordinary amount on this. I know enough about sports betting to not bet over my head.

If I was in Las Vegas like I should be right now, I would definitely have money down on San Diego.

I am stating there are a lot of compelling reasons to wager on the Chargers.

The chargers are a good team when they play crummy teams. they cant stand up to any sort of resistance.

look at the falcons game. they completley collapsed.

then they brag it up when they beat teams like the radiers and chiefs.

This is the true Norv turner team now. that equals losers.

They might and this is a strong might go 8-8 this season. the hard part is coming and there is no way they are going to the playoff.

So do yourselves a favor and bet on the saints to get their first victory this season.

    remember ...Norv Turner

be sure to come back to this thread when the weekend is over to tell me how much you won by following my advice.

When a line looks too good to be true, there's usually something that the book knows that you don't. That's why bookies drive BMWs. This is a prime time game in New Orleans.

SD is over-rated. Their wins have come against low quality teams. The one time they played a top tier team they got absolutely destroyed.

Anyone can drive a BMW these days. (even Nick) Most lease, not own. I would say Maybach or Bentley is more appropriate for a successful Vegas Sportsbook operator.

0-4 with the 32nd ranked defense doesn't sound like a top tiered team!

Third, you're from Cali and obviously biased. There's no way you can look at the Chargers as a quality team.

I got NO blowing SD out in this game. Book it.

    Ok, first the disclaimers.

Not a Norv Turner fan. Just one of many still trying to suck off the fumes of Jimmy Johnson's career (Yes, Chan Gailey, I'm talking about you.).

Previous posters are correct that San Diego folded up against the only good team they've played. And I also agree that the line maker knows more than I do - if the line looks way off, it's far more likely that I've made the mistake.

But, on this game, I think one fact overrides all others: the Saints' defense STINKS! It's tough to be giving points when your defense would have a tough time stopping Steven Hawking from gaining 100 yards.

Not calling this a stone-cold, lead pipe, mortal lock - but I like San Diego plus the points.

Nick was right.... N'awlins still has it. Solid game, but I wouldn't have touched this one with a 10 foot pole. The Chargers are about as dependable as the Cowboys.....with that being said, they are still in this one, but they had their chances to close it out and blew it.

Luckily you didn't make it to Vegas. Drew Brees in the Superdome..... I would have a tough time betting against that, despite the moneyline. Who dat?
