How are the Monte Casino rooms? I know that they are old and not top of the line. Are they clean etc. Just looking for a clean place to sleep on the strip.

Do you mean Monte Carlo? If so, yes, they are clean and a perfect place to take a nap between gambling

I was there about 3 years ago. Rooms were quite a bit nicer than the tower room I had at the Luxor, no where near as nice as my room at the wynn. Very nice, clean, and perfectly adequate. The location is hard to beat.

Stayed 3 nights in May in a strip view deluxe. The room was fine. I've always had a soft spot for the MC. People compain about the lack of atmosphere but I kind of like a little quiet after some of the craziness of other strip hotels.
btw "strip view" at the MC is unlike any other strip hotels. You really can't see much the way the hotel is shaped.

Stayed 5 nights last month. $20 trick got me a strip view room on the 31st floor. (Booked a no view low floor) Room was very clean and modern. Medium oak furniture flat panel TV iPod dock radio... I would say marriott like. My only complaint was it only had 1 sink and did not have a separate toilet room but I have been spoiled by the signature. Put it this way... my wife was satisfied and she is pickey about where she sleeps.

If the room is all that matters, the MC is the best value on the Strip.

However, the pool is usually uncomfortably crowded and there are a lot of twenty somethings that stay there.

The hotel is more for a younger crowd and families.

Especially now with City Center in the way.

As others have said, they're perfectly adequate and generally a very good value, as long as you're not expecting anything luxurious.

I will say that I really liked the 2 complimentary water bottles each day (delivered while the rooms is being cleaned) included in the resort fee, since that saved me the hassle of having to buy a pack and take it to the room. A minor thing, but something that I truly appreciated.

I stayed there last year, it was fine, nothing exciting about the property or the rooms, but it's clean and nice. I like that you can take the tram to CityCenter.

My only gripe, the showers were like INSANELY strong it hurt haha.

If you want your hotel to have more amenities I'm not sure I'd stay there. But if it's just for location it's great.

Have stayed there twice rooms have been very clean both times. Take the tram from MC to Bellagio to by pass the whole City Center. Have to agree not much of a view now with City Center there.

I'm staying at MC the first week of November. This is great feedback. Good to know it's clean and a reasonably nice place to sleep for a couple of hours a night.

It's definitely clean and decent. Staff is among the best. The breakfast buffet is pretty good for the price. Brand, the steakhouse, is not worth what you pay for it and there are much better options in walking distance. Avoid the Cafe at all costs, as it's poorly run. The Pub has a solid beer selection, if that's your thing.

Someone said that it tends to be a younger crowd -- I haven't found that to be the case in my stays there, although this last trip on Saturday night (labor day weekend) it did seem to have more young people than usual. But the fact that it doesn't have an ultra-lounge/club on property -- it tends to skew slightly older. But it also draws some young people due to the price and proximity to Aria.

I've never noticed many families at all. But then I gamble during the daylight hours, so I guess I wouldn't see them if they were there.

Ditto...I would only add that at night (not sure what time), Brand turns into a night club....I've seen younger people then but otherwise tends to be a Mid thirties on up crowd.

Monte Carlo is by far my least favorite place on the strip. Stayed there for NYE 2011. Very underwhelming. Decent clean rooms though.

Wasn't great before city center either. I remember having a great strip view of the Boardwalk and Polo Towers a few years ago.:blah:

From my room last time I could see all the way down to TI. But that was from the top floor.

We have stayed at the MC once. I got sick at the Subways sandwich place in the food court. The sandwich wasn't right. Besides that, we loved the property. They have some decent pools, one of them is a topless pool I think.

The price is right, the location can't be beat. The room was very clean, employess were really nice and check in was a breeze. If your looking for a not too crazy casino/hotel to stay in, then MC is the place.

One thing I can tell you that everyone else on the LVA website told me was, the walls are very thin in the rooms. You can clearly hear a full conversation through the walls.
