I just read an article about earning base credits at TR Sportbooks. I didn;t find the same information at Total Rewards, so I thought I'd lay this out here to see if anyone can confirm it. The article says that betting sports and using the TR card will earn 25 base credits for every $100 wagered. And, betting the horses $100 will get you 200 base credits. The article is not dated.

Can anyone confirm this to be true?

You will get TR points at sportsbooks at CET properties. I do not know the amount of points vs the amount of wager.

Honestly that number for sports bets seems high to me. I've never just done sports bets to know how many points I'm getting. More Points per dollar than slots though just would surprise me.

Now that many points on horses wouldn't surprise me.

I know you still get points for sports bets at CET. I placed some recently. But the return is not as high as stated. Can't recall what it is, but its not much. Then again, since I'm not sure anyone else on the Strip gives points for sports bets (I know Wynn used to, but I haven't placed a sports bet there in years), you might as well place them at CET. They also tend to have better moneylines, at least compared to MGM properties

I wagered at least $800 in NFL football bets last week, should my comps reflect that ? is there anyway to check if he even swiped my card?

Well if the above is true, would you notice an extra $2 in comps in your account?

I believe the number stated is off by a factor of 10. 25 pts for $1000 wagered.

Just seems kinda low considering these are all future bets Superbowl, over-under etc. Money's in their hands for 4 months before anything can be collected, maybe I was expecting more in room comps etc, I am a low roller usually, but to give them all this upfront for me is a big bet. I know reward comps etc are ususally not great, I was more looking at better Hotels to stay in or even weekend comps which I usually never get

The sports book is often a loss leader for the casino. Like poker, they just don't make a lot off it and there's significantly more overhead (people, tech, etc) to run a sportsbook rather than fill that space with rows of slot machines. The books bring people to the casino, especially during big event weekends, and the casinos know a lot of those sports fans will stay and gamble. But they simply don't give significant comps for sports betting

Thanks for the comments. The horses seems way off and betting $100 on favorite to show would pay out more in Base credits than 10 cents per $ on the horse.

Would have been a quick way to the next tier at 200 credits per race.

If anyone gets direct information on this within the next 6 months, would like to hear it.

    To Mike:

As for checking, look at your win/loss statement for the month when the wager was made. If you only bet using your card, it's would show a loss. If you bet and won and used your card to redeem your winning ticket then you should show a profit.

As for checking points, you would have to write down current points. Bet the Texans this Sunday only and then check your points Monday or a few hours after the bet was made.

I just dont think you can ever expect to earn many comps betting in the book. They are at the mercy of the bettors, and can get clobbered on 1 bad game. Horses would make a little more since....as they just take out their 18-22% there, but i certainly wouldnt be making bets expecting to advance a tier in any way.

That is not worth much to them. Check interest rates lately? They may get to hold your money for a few months, but they eventually have to pay somebody out on the bet - or at least most of it.
