hey guys this is my wife's first time to Vegas i go once or twice a year, shes not a gambler at all so she has all these non gambling things she wants to do like go see all the hotels and walk around etc etc etc, my bankroll is normally around 12 to 16k, im taking 15k this trip, and i normally just keep the cash in my pocket as i dont trust the room safe, but this time i dont wanna go to the pool or some crap with 15k in my pocket, or more if i win, will i look like a pest or be annoying to the cage if i put like 10k on deposit for front money when i get there? i dont wanna be an annoying pest or something with only 10k and i dont wanna look annoying to the pit boss pulling out 2 and 3k markers? at the mgm, or will that amount fit right in? iv never used front money or markers, but i dont wanna do all this stuff with my wife all over the place and have 15k++ in my pocket lol

Many casinos will accept from $5000+ on deposit. Usually $1000 to $1500 and up is okay for a marker. There is just as much paperwork for one amount verses another. That's why you dont want to draw amounts under that. If you win, you can buy the marker back from the pit and they void the whole thing. That saves the cage and the pit, a lot of bookwork. They will like you for that and it won't hurt your rating in the long run.

The cage will take your $10k no problem. As said before $1k markers you will be fine.

Depositing that much and taking $2K markers is no problem.I see people take $1K markers all the time and have seen $500 markers.

No problem at all. I have deposited $10k cash and drawn $2k markers. That's the lowest amount I would use a marker for but, when this question has been asked before, others have posted about $1000 or $500 markers. No-one will question what you are doing, it will be fine.

How hard is it is to wire money to the casino your staying at? Im staying at TI and Aria and would it be easier to wire the money there? Im planning on bringing 4K. Or can I put all 4K in my checking account and will they cash a check made out from myself there at TI/Aria?

With only $4k, why not just put it in your pocket or carryon? Wiring seems to just add a hassle factor.

Wiring does add to the hassle factor. They only let you take out a certain % in cash so in your case you will be taking small markers or all one big marker.
Put it in your pocket and carry it on and/or open a credit line for $5K at the casino and pay it off if you use it.

Plus, the banks charge per one thousand dollar increments for a wire transfer, so you have an added cost. They might take a cashiers check made payable to your self, but you would need to clear that with the cashiers cage before you arrive. They need 3 working days (days your bank is open) to get it approved in advance. Each casino has their own way of handling this, so a call to them will be necessary regardless.

i was able to wire as much as i wanted for a 15 dollar fee from my bank.it takes about 3 days to post to your account in vegas,so just give some lead time and when you get there just go to the cage and do the paperwork,it was real easy

you'll be fine. you should wire the money beforehand and then you don't need to deal with the hassle of traveling with the cash. you can call the cage or talk to your host and get the wire info and send it a few days before your trip. verify they received it before you leave and you're all set.

i'm surprised you've never seen anyone take out markers that small before. i've taken out $2k markers all the time.

maybe by default, but if you're in a hurry, you can wire money and they will have it in your account the same day, the instant it's received. they want you to gamble with it after all.

I take out 1k markers all the time. I've never been told anything nor have I received any looks. My front money is always in the 10-12 range.

If I request a 5K cashiers check from my bank and take it the casino Im staying at (TI) they will cash it for me. Will there be a fee? And it will be instant? Will there be any other paperwork?

Cashiers checks can and have been forged, so the only way to have it cashed instantly is to have it cleared by them before hand. They will need a copy of the check before you arrive to do this. If there is a weekend involved, take that into account because your bank my have limited hours for the casino to contact them. The casino normally won't charge but your bank might for the cashiers check.

Though I would just take the $5k with me, another option that costs only $25 and is very hassle free. Go to the ATM and withdraw $1k at a time. Usually about $5 charge. Some people get freebies. (I don't)

    wires
    bank checks
    travelers checks
    markers

I guess I am either too naive or too lazy to bother with it all. It would have to hit $10k before I would bother.
