I have only done three, Beijing, Atlanta and Hong Kong. Odd, I assumed Detroit would be on the list, it can be quite a haul. I do remember Beijing and it sucked!

Walking any distance in McCarran is long when leaving Las Vegas.

My big gripe about McCarran is the carpeting they have in the departure bag check area. With the roll-arounds I have, it seems like I'm pulling a ton of bricks when I trudge from where the shuttle lets us off down to Untied or Southwest! :(

Manchester might be on the list, but it's a relatively painless experience.

Totally agree. It feels like I'm walking to the galows when I'm leaving Vegas.

Atlanta is somewhat long if you have to go from 1 to 33. The one mentioned in the article is the new Intl terminal. Stupid.

One that I hate is Dallas. Due to the long curve, you never really have an idea how far it is. At least in Atlanta - you can see the end.

Yes, Detroit is pretty long in that new terminal.

When leaving Las Vegas, the walk to our gate seems like I am walking home to St. Louis . . . couldn't be much farther could it?

I thought for sure Detroit would be on the list . . . we live about 10 miles from the airport and when I find out our gate number; it feels like we are walking back home!

MSP is a biotch. Anyone ever been to Kansas City's airport? That's the way they should ALL be built.

MSP can be a major pain but I do love the indoor mall for long layovers. I agree with the poster about Atlanta and their international terminal, it's a looong haul but is so much easier to navigate than the other Atlanta terminals and it's quiet. As for KC (MCI) did you know they are pushing for a new airport to be built?

I think it is one of the older ones in the country. KCI or MCI if you will, is probably the easiest major airport in the country to navigate. If they do build a new one, I hope it is built about the same, but with security concerns it will probably be like all the other airports in the country. Where are they talking about putting it? Johnson County?

No way they would put it in Johnson County, it will be on the Missouri side (Jackson County). My guess, they won't build one but will do upgrades to the existing location. It would cost a fortune to build a new one. The old municipal airport used to be downtown and I think they still do executive flights out of there.

I've flown into Heathrow 4-5 times and it seems like a hike in the mountains to get to wherever I'm going.

Yeah I used to work for Avis and we would deliver cars there all the time. It is called Executive Beechcraft. Liberty area would make sense, or where I lived for a year- Lee's Summit. Lots of land everywhere outside of Libery and Lee's Summit.

BTW, they re-did the rental car place after I moved back to Minnesota, spent a ton of money on it, so re-doing the current airport probably does make more sense. Place is nice, walk right into your gate.
