Worth the $160 to stay at Aria over TI?

Hey everyone, Im going to Vegas for 4 nights from 9/9-9/13. I booked TI right away because it was the best offer at the time $59/nt with NO resort fees. The next day I get an offer in the mail for Aria, $99night + resort fees. I wanted to make sure I got locked in for Aria before the prices went up so I booked Aria the last two nights of my trip (9/11-9/13) Total is $280 (+$25 resort credit) compared to the $120 it would cost at TI.

Is it worth the extra price at Aria? I am planning on doing alot of gambling (especially poker, but I also want to be out at the bars parting. Im a 23 year old single male.

 

I am a big fan of Aria so to me it is a definite yes it's worth it.
I know other people on this board do not like spending $10 more for a nicer hotel but I'm just the opposite.
You may find a younger crowd at Aria also.

 

I agree, in fact I'd book all 4 nights at Aria. TI is kind of worn and you'll definitely find an older crowd there. If youre going to the pool at all then it's really a no brainer. TI pool is small and pretty much looks like an afterthought to me.

 

Definitely the younger crowd at Aria and across the street at PHo. At TI, you can party across the street at Wynn. Not sure what kind of poker action TI has, but my poker playing friends rave about the poker room at Aria. Hope that helps

I will happily stay at TI (on a comp ) but Aria is a big step up. It also has one of the best, arguably the best, poker rooms in Vegas.

Only you can judge how important the lower cost of TI is to you, but you are definitely getting a lot more for your money at Aria.

 

I rarely say this, but in your situation its worth the extra $$$. For a 23 year old you are right in the heart of it. Aria, Cosmo and PH!!

 

Looks like I made the right choice. People are wondering why I don't book all 4 nights at Aria. Well I am not arriving until 9pm the first night, so half the night would be gone and also I want to spend a day downtown so I plan to do that Monday

 

Yes, BUT depends what you are looking for.. for me, I'm 27, I don't have a ton of cash. TI would probably win because it's cheaper, and I can spend more money on other things. I can always go over to Aria.

With Aria you also have to remember, food costs more there, the gambling is higher limit.. all these things, 5 star hotel, 5 star prices, 5 star amenities. But, TI is really old and worn out.

and doesn't Ti have a $25 a day resort fee? Unless that was a special thing on your deal.

 

It does, but its optional, even in an promotional email from them its written as optional.

 

Optional?? Thats like it an option whether a stranger can punch you in the face or not. Who would pay something if they didn't have to?

 

Well you don't get the resort features such as pool access , wifi, boarding pass, conseige andmmuch more I'm sure if you decline the fee

These are valid points. And I think TI represents a great value. But, if it doesn't kill your budget (you haven't expressed much concern in that regard) then you've definitely made the right choice. Aria is in a whole other league.

Also - you might want to get some more clarification on these "optional" resort fees. Unless you're on a comp or some special offer, I'd be surprised if you didn't get charged.

 

Just one additional comment on food.
Heather mentioned more expensive food at Aria.
That is probably accurate on the higher end but at Aria you have easy access to MC food court without going outside.

 

Aria is overrated IMO. I think you did the smart thing by splitting up the trip. In addition to venturing downtown, will give you a chance to check out that end of the Strip.

Re: the TI resort fee, is the optional nature of the fee tied to your specific offer, or can you tell? (For a while, they were running a special rate promotion where that rate had no resort fee.)

 

I stayed at TI last summer under a casino marketing offer ($39/night) and the resort fee was "optional". Of course I declined it, as I didn't use the items included in their fee (Internet, etc.). It was mentioned in the offer and confirmed by the reservationist and the front desk clerk. I am not sure if non casino marketing reservations have this choice or not.

I have just booked the $99/night offer at Aria ("Summer" Casino Marketing rate) for 3 nights in September. With the $25/resort fee per night, it comes out to something like $417 for the 3 night stay. I wouldn't have booked it, except that I am making my way thru every strip hotel and Aria is on my list to do next, so I went with it. I am normally a cheapskate when it comes to hotels (comped at most Caesars properties except Caesars), but I enjoy trying something new on my trips.

Personally i love ti and the crowd at the pool isnt that old...plenty of young folks when im there. Poker room at ti is small but seems busy most of the time. My other fav is aria. That place is beautiful and i love the casino setup. I think you will like the split since you have two days at the north end and two at the south end. Makes it easier to see the whole strip. Have a fun trip.!

 

Well, was lucky enough to find an offer in the mail for 3 nights comped at Palazzo, unforuntaly they informed me when booking that I would be required to pay the resort fee, but the person on the phone STRONGLY SUGGESTED I talk to a casino host when checking out to have it waived. So Im staying my first night at TI since Im arriving late.

 

If you gambled at all, always talk to a host before you check-out and see if there's anything they can do for you about fees or if they can comp anything else. No host has ever said 'hey, let me add something to your bill.' So it can only help you or you'll stay the same, it can't hurt you. Except with MLife express comps, but that doesn't apply to you.
