After reading the $1000 promo i was wondering if there are any others like it? I know about the cosmos $100, anything else appealing for new members or unused cards?
    Thanks

Tropicana has one for $200, new signups only
The Palms does as well, $500 for new signups
Stratosphere had one for the longest time, they might still

I am going to check out the offers at Hooters and Westin as they may be better than their previous offers. Palms has a deal too but it doesn't sound as good for my situation.

The signup bonus at Hooters is a waste of time: although it is "free play" it is special free play - you can only play it on certain machines and you can't cash it out unless you hit a jackpot (which is going to be extremely rare). Plus the machines you have to play are $5 machines so you'll go through the freeplay pretty fast so its not even worth it as a time killer.

For the Westin they have a rebate program as well (new signups only) up to $50. But not entirely sure how they handle that: its probable that what they would do is mail you a special "check" to your home that you can bring in on your next visit, within a certain time, and cash at their casino cage.

And on that note you do have to really take a look to see what are the details of these different rebate programs and how they work. Like Cosmopolitan credits the $100 loss right away on your card, where Tropicana does half and then you have to wait for the other half. The big thing is that some might mail a check to your house or make you wait until next month before getting some or all of your money - thats to get you to come back and if it could be a while before you return then you might not get to take full advantage of the rebate offer.

I thought I had read about a different deal for Hooters that sounded like the Tropicana deal. It gave back your losses but over a 3 day period.

Checked up on this and looks like they did change it (that old promo was just so bad and probably caused a few headaches between them and people who signed up expecting normal free play).

So yes, Hooters does the loss reimbursement promotion for up to $100 - new sign ups only.

They rebate 50% of your losses on the first day and then 25% on each of the second and third days.

Personally, I don't like the ones where you have to go back. At least with Hooters you don't have to wait a month or so or get something mailed to you back home.

The problem I see is: unless you are staying somewhere like MGM, Tropicana or Excalibur it can be a bit of a hike to get to Hooters. IE: if you were staying at Flamingo and went to Hooters, lost $100 and get $50 back... are you really going to want to go back the next day for $25?

A free $25 isn't bad at all but if you take the monorail there thats $5 each way out of your $25... if you take a cab it'll probably cost you just about your whole $25 to get there and back... if you try to maximize the return, meaning you walk it, thats a pretty good hike due to the heat most of the year and when you get there you'll be all hot and sweaty and while some people won't mind the walk, most people won't want to do it.

Thanks, I think we are planning on hitting the Riviera and Trop (just can't remember if I ever had a card there??? Could be like 10 yrs ago?)

    Cheers!

You can call Tropicana and Palms, ask to be transferred to the players club and they can verify if you have an account there or not.

I did this before purchasing the slot play deals ($40 for $25 for existing members, $50 for $25 for new members) on slotplaycoupons.com . Unfortunately, I had accounts at both so I was glad I called before buying the wrong deal. I remembered reading someone's trip report before where he talked about buying the wrong one and having to jump through hoops to get it fixed.

    Current ones

Cosmo $100--you must lose $100 (through 7/31..though they have been extending this for a YEAR)
Trop up to $200 in $10 increments...50% today, 25% tomorrow, 25% the next day
Hooters up to $100, same as Trop
    Westin $50 back same day
Hard Rock has one, on slots only, not video poker; can't find the details...
Palms up to $1K; $50 increments; 25% today; 25% good in 2 wks, but only for 6 mos.; 505 good in 3 mos. for a year
Riviera up to $1K; $50, or $100 increments, but all given the same day

All are for new sign ups except Cosmo & Trop--but you can only do them once.

Riv, Westin & Cosmo are best with full amount credited the first day. Prefer the old Trop deal, half now, half good in 30 days but for a year. Palms is just a headache.

The Riviera deal was listed as 50% back same day, 50% back the next month.

Has this changed recently where they give 100% of it back the same day? If so it would be the best deal in town.

I don't believe so, according to other forums, but they may be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

If you are referencing the link above to Advantage Player thats just a lack of information on their site, not a change in the promotion. They do include a URL link to the promotion that if you visit says it still has the same terms as before: 50% returned on the day you sign up and 50% on the third day of the following month.

I thought the Riviera was only half on the same day and the other half like 3 days later. In that case I have to make a return trip which might be reason enough to do it.
