Roughly equal pricing for Wynn, Encore & Mirage (standard king rooms) through SW packages (cheaper than separating out, oddly). Have stayed at Mirage several times and LOVE location, size, pool. Very intrigued by Encore to "step it up a notch" this trip and have a super-nice room. Why Wynn over Encore or vice versa - is there a difference to sway one way or another when pricing is within $10 total for the 3 nights?? Also could do Encore panoramic king suite for $60 more per night - is that worth it? From the pictures online, the rooms don't look much different. Hotel would primarily be for great room and pool - typically we are out and about evenings, not particularly worried about restaurants or gaming in the place we stay.

    Input is appreciated! :) Thanks!

Sounds like it is worth it just to experience a new place. And one that is a bit nicer.

Depending on where you are "out and about", the distance might be an issue. Your call of course.

Guessing you do not play enough to get comped or discount rooms at Mirage?

I prefer Wynn over Encore because I play mainly in that casino (poker and sportsbook) and it is a pretty good hike if you need to go back to the room. As far as rooms go, Wynn and Encore are very similar in quality. I'll be heading to the Wynn in a week!

Encore rooms are mini-suites, which just means there is a low divider between the bed and the rest of the room. If you like to watch TV in bed, go for Encore. Otherwise Wynn rooms are just fine. Panoramic rooms are out on the end of the building, so you get two walls of windows. Nice, but not really worth the extra $60 IMO. As a free upgrade definitely, but save the cash and just go for a Wynn King.

Thanks for the feedback. What if I threw Aria into the mix? Again, similar cost. I had ruled it out because i was afraid it would be too much of a younger crowd, but should I give it consideration?

I personally hate Aria's casino, so that rules the place out for us unless the room is free, and we'd still spend the time somewhere else. If you like the location of Mirage, then Wynn is where you want to be.

Out of all the choices I'd pick Aria. I love it there, and it's always fun, a lot of times you go into Wynn or Encore and it's completely dead, as fancy as it is it can be boring... Not to mention Aria has the best location. I think it might be a younger crowd than Wynn, but i've never found it to be rowdy or anything like that. I mean, it's still $200+ a night to stay there most of the time... All the party goers are likely gonna hit up a 4 star, for cheaper options for dining, gambling, drinking etc..

Unlike Ardee, i love Aria's casino! haha personal choice I guess. Last time i was in Wynncore, there was like 4 people gambling total in the whole place, it was depressing.

Agree with Ardee about Aria's casino, but the beds are the best! I would probably not stay there if I could stay at the Wyncore for the same price. Although the placement on the strip sucks, it would be a journey to get anywhere else I imagine.

You mentioned pools, one thing I haven't seen mentioned is if you choose Encore, you can use Encore OR Wynn pool. If you book Wynn you can only use the Wynn pool. I probably would pick Wynn if you never stayed there just for the experience, Aria is nice but it is a bit back from the strip, Wynncore is kind of off to itself as well though.

It depends what you are looking for. Encores casino is smaller and not as busy as the Wynn. Encore has nicer rooms and i also like their pool better. Wynn has a better location and a bigger casino but keep in mind their room and pool area is still very nice.
If you like it a little more quiet and don't mind walking a little extra i go for Encore otherwise i pick Wynn.

I prefer Encore over Wynn. Don't get me wrong, Wynn is great, but Encore is a step up. I also ike the long walk from the casino back to Encore, but I'm a walker. Plus I usually like to stop for a nightcap back at Encore in case I need a little energy.

I stayed at Aria on my last trip. It's great, but no Wynn. Location is great and I like the vibe but it is a bit mall like. A friend put it this way, it looks like it was designed by committee rather than one man's vision, meaning Wynn. The walk from Aria to the strip is deceptively long.

I would stay at any 3 but my vote is Encore > Wynn > Aria >>> Mirage

    My advice mirrors Johnvic.

We were long time Mirage people and switiched to Wynn about 4 years ago and now always stay at Encore. Encore rooms are much nicer IMO and I love having the Lobby Bar right at the bottom of the elevators when you come down in the morning for coffee.

Encore like any of the hotels anymore can get a little dump of harmless but and loud drunk kids when the beach club lets out but that is just about all hotels in Vegas these days. They usually disperse pretty quickly because not many of them seem to be staying there and they're not gambling because they already blew the allowance mom and dad gave them out at the beach club. I think it's only open Fri, Sat & Sun.

I really like having two pretty different casino's on one property. Encore is generally pretty laid back and Wynn in much busier w/ more of a feel like the Mirage casino to me. We were there 2 weeks ago and I never saw the Wynn casino not hopping.

As someone already said, you can use both pools if you stay at Encore so you have the choice of either hotels regular pool or their Euro pool. Be warned that the cool lilly pads and day beds at both hotel pools rent for anywhere from $200-$500/day depending on what day of the week it is but there are always plenty of regular lounge chairs to be had.

I try to avoid Vegas in general on the weekends. We always get in Sat night and have a bite to eat and a few drinks, then play a little. We're usualy shot by 11 since we're still on east coast time and from there it's Sun-Fri.

Also, we've never felt like the walk form Encore to Wynn was anything..it might take 5 minutes max but your walking in an air conditioned shopping area so it's not like it's a chore.

I think there's about 20 different places to eat between the two so you are never lacking for choices.

If you're a light sleeper at all, unless you just have to have a view of the strip looking south towards MB, get a north facing room and avoid any night club noise regardless of what floor you're on.

Good luck and have a great trip! Dino

You wouldn't be disappointed in the Wynn rooms at all, it just depends if you want your "home base" to come down to a more upbeat casino or a quiter casino for me.

I'm another vote for a no-go to Aria too, just based on the casino there. It seemed like a small narrow dark after thought to me but I'm sure some like it. Everybody likes different things so only you know what flips your switch for hotel decor... I just really feel comfortable and at home at Wynncore...we never even leave the compound sometimes for the whole 6-7 days! lol

Either way....Encore or Wynn, hands down for me:wave:

I'm not a fan of Aria. Room was nice, did not like the casino and restaurants were too expensive. (Yes, they are at the other three places too). Staying at the Wynn soon.

I'm completely the opposite - Wynn every time (after my one stay at Encore). Encore's casino is too small and and after club opening time has all sorts hanging out there - or sometimes throwing up there.

In what why is Wynn a step up from Encore? I meet many people that prefer Wynn because of its location and bigger casino, especially poker players who are to lazy to walk 5 minutes to the poker room. But i never heard that Wynn is a step up, the general consensus always seem to be that Encore is nicer but some people still like Wynn because of the more crowded casino and location.

I always choose Encore but do it only because of the nicer rooms and since the casino is more quiet. I like the pool area better as well.
