I had great success on the $1 Top Dollar machine ($3/spin max bet).
When the bonus was triggered, the normal amounts were between $25 and $45.
Twice was in the $100s and once was a nice hit for $440.

Since my luck was pretty good with the $1 machine I figured the $5 ($10/spin max bet) would be even better. Boy was I wrong. Doing max bet and it makes your cash go by quickly. Unfortunately nothing would hit.

I plan to play this machine more next trip but can't stop wondering what is the normal amounts offered on a $10 max bet Top Dollar machine.

    Has anyone played this machine?
If so, what amount did you encounter during the bonus for either a $5 or $10 spin?

I've played it, they're usually two credit
It usually offers credits, not dollars, and that can vary from 5 to 1000
Usually, a 40 credit offer (in some combination of 5/10/20) is the decent low end offer

I've played them. Hit and mostly miss, but I've hit the bonus for anywhere between $200-$500 before.

I had 4 bonus rounds, took all 4 offers in the first 3, nothing higher than 35 in any. 4th one, got another low offer, then for the second offer got 170x2.

Other than that and some cherries, I had zero payouts across about 70 spins or so.

That is quite a step up from $1 to $5... quintupling your amount bet per spin.

Realistically for that step up you have to approach it in one of two ways: "taking a shot" or trying to play the game seriously.

If you are just taking a shot then winning a couple of hundred on the $1 machine and then feeding it in to the $5 machine is OK... you just have to be able to accept that a short stretch of nothing can wipe you out.

If you are going to try and actually play the game seriously then you need to have the proper bankroll to do so... if your normal buy in to Top Dollar at the $1 level is with $100 and then you keep a second $100 in your pocket for "just in case" then with the $5 machine you should be buying in with $500 and keeping a second $500 in your pocket as your "just in case I burn through the first $100 fast" money.

Personally, I like the idea of taking a shot once in a while. If I am doing really well then I'll play a few spins a step or two (or three) above my normal level. Sometimes it has worked out great, other times its been a bust.

For the price per spin, I would definitely try again if the offer was only $35 for such a machine.

BTW, on the $1 machine I got the X2 X2 on a single offer. That was totally unexpected and a pleasant surprise. In fact, I was not aware the X2 offer was even there.

The cherries is more than I saw. Although the high amount machines are supposed to pay out more it does seem they have these higher amounts pretty tight.

I wonder if they loosen up the $1 machine and put the tight $5 machine next to them so people like me thing the $5 will also hit big and dump all my winnings from the $1 machine into the $5 machine. Well, it worked.

I've also had good luck on the $1 and nothing on the $5. I hit 2 bonuses on the $5 and neither were more than 20 credits. pissed away 500 in no time.

There are two types of Top Dollar machines--one is a double top dollar which provides the option of getting two of the X2 and the other is a regular top dollar machine which will not double any of your offers.

Also, a poster above mentioned playing only one coin--if you get the bonus while you are only playing one coin, you get a set amount of credits and will not have the option to see the four different offers. You have to play max bet on this machine to see the four offers.

My best hit on the $5 Double Top dollar was to hit $550 with both 2X multipliers for $2200. Still hoping to some day hit the $5000 offer!

I'll be going to Vegas in Sept. As far as I know, I havent seen these here in Wisconsin. Can someone please tell me where these are located out there and, are they worth playing? I see the 5 dollar one must be a waste--fast.

They are at PH but hard to describe the location.
I mostly played at NYNY and they are located at the corner outside the High Limit room and Cashiers.

For me the slots are purely a "smash and grab" operation.

I actually really like the $5 dollar top dollar and will probably put $100 in it 3 times or so during a trip and play for 5 minutes or so. If I hit anything about $600 I cash out, otherwise I keep playing until I'm broke.

I would say pretty much all or most casinos have dollar, $5 and in many cases $10 or more as well
Easy to find, but as said , you need enough payroll to wait out the machine hitting

I once tried a $10 machine in the MC at $20, hit the first spin. I have hit $1000 maybe 3 times on the dollar machines in the Bellagio and the Palazzo. I also hit a double double red 7 in the bellagio for I think $900. The Venetian and Palazzo also had top dollars in the high limit rooms for $25.
Caesars has some decent dollar machines somewhat close to the TR desk.

I got a purse out of one offer from the $5 Top Dollar machine - the Louis Vuitton store is just around the corner

I have never won anything on the $10 machine. But the $1 machine is usually good for a long run. I read somewhere that if you get offered $35 to take it because that's probably your best offer.

My son won $180 playing quarters on a TD at the GN & he was ecstatic, besides blackjack that was his biggest win.

That's a terrible bonus round. Same thing I experienced on the $5.

I am not much of a slot player but my GF loves them. Just about every trip we each put in a $100 and run it thru a $5 machine as partners. Her favorite is Top Dollar. We have a great time but sometimes have small differences of opinion on when we should take an offer. She has had some pretty substantial hits over the years and wants to keep going for the gold while I am more prone to taking a $200-$300 offer if it comes up. If you are hitting the bonus, you can do well. If you aren't seeing that Top Dollar symbol, you won't spend a lot of time at the machine.
