I've read on other threads about Premium slots and I'm a bit confused (not that it takes too much ). Are these "premium" slots that returns fewer points/comps, only at MGM properties? Are they only the kinds that have a license e.g. Wheel of fortune, Hangover etc? Is there any way to identify them other than with slot point returns?? Tim T-15
It would be nice to know, but believe you have to monitor your cost per spin and watch your session count a few times and calculate it out. It will probably vary from machine to machine and property to property.
So far it is not at CET props. The closest CET has to this is the 'bonus' rewards credits are not earned as quickly on some slots like Little Lucy. However at CET you still earn 1 TC for each $5 slot & $10 VP. And from a trip report I read on ??TA there was a person playing the exact same slot at 2 or 3 different casinos. At one it was premium & at another it wasn't. So yes, trial & error is it.
From what i've been reading on other boards the only properties doing this so far are the MGM properties. The most likely suspects are the "licensed" machines like the Hangover, Ghostbusters, etc. where they have to pay royalties for a name brand. Also, I believe I've heard that their high limit slots pay a smaller return. But, I've also read that some of the other slots pay back at a smaller rate that don't seem to make sense. So the best thing is to just watch your counter and pay attention to how fast your credits are adding up, if you are concerned with accumulating comps. I really hope this does not catch on with CET.
It should be pretty obvious, but sometimes it's not. I encountered 2 dollar machines at the Mirage that were not any kind of a theme (the Big Green Machine and Pinball), that were only paying 1 point for every $10 played. Supposedly you can get a list from the MLife window. But the best thing to do is check every machine you play.
Checked out. I have written all I need to on this topic. Now it's Caveat Emptor, and the search tool is your friend.
