I've been doing some searches on here and google searches and haven't found an answer on my own. It looks to me like the LINQ project is not going to be done until late summer or early fall 2013. It looks like IP, Flamingo and of course O'Shae's are the most affected properties. I'm aiming at Bally's for Sept 17 to 25.

My question; how affected is Harrah's by this project, if I'm looking at plan B?

My criteria for this trip is strip location, reasonably priced spa pass, budget, 24 hour coffee shop on site or next door.

I just got back from Vegas yesterday and the front of Harrah's is all tore up. They have the sidewalk rerouted and the right hand lane of traffic is also closed. On the inside nothing is affected. But if you were wanting to walk then plan on lot's of congestion out front.

Fully aware of that worldtraveler....Linq project has closed down parts of Audrie, Winnick and Ida....so the traffic is getting tricky out back. We NEVER drive the strip. Have stayed at Harrahs 3 times. Thanks anyways for your advice.

To clarify; if we don't intend to rent a car or self park, Harrah's will be OK besides some changes to the front entrance?

Yes. I just came home from Harrah's on Monday, and If I had not walked outside, I wouldn't have know anything was going on.

Tammy, Maybe you might want to call Harrahs and ask if they can find you another hotel to stay at for your dates.

I was able to make a change to Ballys from IP today by stating that the construction work will affect me in different ways. They can do a search for
you to find you another hotel and book it for you and cancel your Harrahs
reservation. That is what they did for me and I am really happy. Lucy

Thanks Lucy...we prefer Harrahs location (except for the construction)...we have a suite booked and those travelling with us have a comped room at Harrahs but nowhere else (they are micro rollers). We considered changing to Monte Carlo a few weeks ago...all of our show/shopping/dining plans for this trip are in the Harrahs area. We also couldn't get the same type of suite we booked for the same price anywhere else. We will just cross the street to walk south. Inside Harrahs there will be nothing noticeable. We have made many trips and have stayed at Harrahs before so we have our preferences.

The only place I would refuse to stay right now is the IP. Read on one of the boards yesterday that a section of the casino is under reconstruction, front is a mess, back is a mess.

Thanks for the info, LucyR. Were your rooms comped? If not, was there a Bally's charge for the difference in prices? I'm think of hitting the IP for a summer poker quest.

Harrah's is not affected at all. Mostly affects Imperial Palace. The walkway in front of IP is a construction mess somewhat since it is constricted.

Just got back from an 8 night stay at Harrah's and the only problem was if you had a room on the pool side was noise - not only the usual music from the pool and Carnival Court but the sound of construction jack hammers, trucks backing up etc. We originally had a room in the Mardi Gras tower on the pool side but moved across the hall before staying even one night and didn't hear a thing. Yes the side walk in front of IP was a mess but actually not hard to navigate and we went through there many times. We had a car and yes the back is getting tricky but as long as you went out the parking lot and made a left to sands and right to Koval it was fine.
