My new iPad!

I bit the bullet yesterday and bought the new iPad. What's really cool is I'm not typing this. Anywhere you need to type you can turn on the microphone and talk, and it will type out what you said. And I have to say it does a pretty darn good job.

Totally useless post but I wanted to test the new feature

 

It looks very clear. And I just use the default style, and not the mobile one.

I swapped my 2 for a 3 (new) one a couple of weeks ago. Didn't notice much difference until I picked up a 2 again. It's like night and day.

Try real racing 2 HD, iMovie, djay and starwalk.

 

I had the "1" and just upgraded to the "3" a couple weeks ago. I didn't know it had that feature??? I gotta play with it more. I have a MacAir that I LOVE and so haven't really given the Ipad the attention it deserves. I notice it takes longer to charge it...

 

I love my android phone for work, but I love my Ipad once I'm home. It's what I take to Vegas anymore, it easier and does everything I need it to with much less heft than a laptop. I just got the model with wifi, but I can tether it to my phone if we're driving.

 

Congrats. I plan on getting one in the next month or so. Will be nice to have on the flight to Las Vegas!!

 

I'd recommend you don't get the 16GB version. Apps are huge when optimised for the new retina display so you'll soon eat that up. Especially if you bung a couple of full HD movies on it.

Here's my 64GB one with a fairly normal amount of apps on it.

 

I read that too, after I had bought my 16GB one I also noticed it loses a charge a bit faster.

 

Don't feel bad. It's hardly common knowledge yet and before now the 16GB has been more than enough. It tends to be games that get massive, so it might not affect you.

It still lasts a long enough time for me not to notice the battery going down too quickly, but charging it takes forever! I used to be able to charge my iPad 2 in a couple of hours on the USB, this one takes nearer 9! Or 5.5 on the mains adapter. Apparently the battery is 70% larger in order to keep up the operating life.

 

Apple. Now there's some Kool-Aid I'll freely drink!

Finally getting rid of my antiquarian second gen iPhone 3, but we'll stick with the iPad2. Now this fall when the new OS comes out, hello MacBook ... finally. Didn't make the jump over with the most recent laptop upgrade. Won't make that mistake again, again.

 

I like Apple.



With the MackBook I'd wait until the new hardware comes out (should be this year). You can always upgrade the OS and they tend to only change the hardware every few years.

Oooh. I thought they had delayed the hardware. I wonder how I can wangle on of them. I only got upgraded about 6 months ago so I'll probably have to wait another year

Same here - I have the iPad 2 and an iPod....that is it - they both rule!

I take both to Vegas and they weigh almost nothing and are a treat to have.
