    My Trip Report

a full trip report will be posted within the day, but wanted to say hi here first.
We had a great time, not quite as much debauchery as my trips usually are, but still a lot of fun. i came home with 450 out of my 1000 dollar budget, which is aces in my book.
    TR soon to come\

This was my third trip to glorious las vegas. Typically we are trying to get there every year for spring break, but the players have changed yearly. This time it was my friend Jon who went last year, his brother Dan and a third friend named pick.

Three of us flew out of Richmond, although on two separate airlines. The last person flew from erie.
I loved continental. They gave us a full meal on our flight from Cleveland to Vegas and had satellite tv for only six bucks. Totally worth it, watched 2012 and the blind side and the flight was over. Perfect.

We stayed the first two nights at golden nugget downtown. Check in line took nearly an hour, but other than that we enjoyed our stay. We got into our rooms at about 330 and the hit up the casino a little bit. Once we were satisfied we walked to MSS for the triple 7 brewpub. I have been wanting to get here for years and just never made it for whatever reason. I was certainly not disappointed. The food was excellent, and the beers were too. We had the sampler, five 5 ounce beers for 5.50 and thoroughly enjoyed every drop of all of them except the porter.
When we walked out all of the slots were down with caution tape around them.
Thought that was weird. We proceeded to play some games at MSS, I did well playing craps turning 40 into 125 and the rest of the crew tread water playing 3 card poker.
I have already amassed a pretty good chip collection before this trip, with somewhere around 25, but was hoping to hit 40 this trip. MSS, Las Vegas Club, Plaza and Golden Gate were all new chips for me so we hit those places early this evening. Jon got the 1.99 shrimp at the Gate.

Of note, all four of these places were assholes about getting chips. “we don’t sell chips” blah blah. Anyway, I actually had to bribe a blackjack dealer with a two dollar tip and same with a cocktail waitress at the gate to get a chip from her tip jar. Ridiculous.
By this time it was 10 or so, and some of us had already been up 19 hours, but pick and I were up for the binions 60 buck freeze out and I was out pretty quick. Zach did well but threw it all away and finished in 8th. We walked to McDonalds over by plaza and enjoyed the hot n spicy mcchickens and headed to bed. We were probably 15 free drinks in and up for 23 straight hours. It was time to crash.

    April 4

Easter Sunday found us at the plaza for breakfast buffet as everyone else downtown had ridiculous priced breakfast buffets for Easter etc. The plaza, not know for its food, was actually more than edible and at 8 bucks was well worth it. After breakfast we took a cab up to the Stratosphere . I had never been there before and we went up the tower. There was a pretty long line but it went pretty quick. We were happy to see the view even though it is a bit pricey.
It was very windy all day, as in like 50 mph so that made the tower interesting lol.
After this we started gambling and drinking. All four of us sat at strat playing 3 card. I bought in for 100 and had a couple drinks and was down to 40. I said screw it and went to craps where I got all my money back plus 25, mostly on my own rolls. The brothers were doing shots of jose and so by the time we walked to Sahara, they were pretty wrecked. We got the 1 dollar shots there of some sweet crap but there was liquor in them so what the hell. We sat down at a one dollar roulette wheel, the first time ever for this game for me. I bought in for 20 and could have left with it but thought it more fun to put it all no black.
Lost lol. We then went to Circus Circus, also my first time here. Played craps, bought in for 60, walked out with 199. I also placed a sports bet that won, but we never made it back to CC, I am going to mail it but its only 30 bucks lol.
At this point it was getting to be dinner time, we were all pretty tanked so we cabbed back to MSS for the pub again. First time I had burger, this time one of their pizzas. Both were good. We also got garlic fries as appetizer, that was awesome as well. I got a large special beer and that was tasty.
After we wandered back to the nugget, we all placed a couple more sports bets ( I was 3 for 3 at this point thanks to the socks and the over on opening day, and a couple hockey bets) and then we crashed in the room for a bit. Pick slept until like 10, the rest of us walked to el Cortez for .25 cent roulette and 3 dollar craps. I also need a chip here. We played for quite some time, I lost about 50 bucks total but nothing ridiculous. At this point in the trip I was about even so it was a great start but it went down hill when we moved to the strip.
The brothers went to bed early, but pick and I felt adventurous and I really wanted another chip so we wandered to the western. It was a dead walk, only saw one scary bum the whole walk. Definitely not as sketchy as I heard, but we definitely didn’t stay too long, just a chip and run.
Back to GN and in bed shortly after 2.

    edit: [IMG]
this bet was at the el cortez and was .25 cent chips. the thing about it is, i almost bet it all on 0/00 for grins as it was all the chips i had left, but decided an even money bet would be better. sure nuff 00 came out. sigh

    to be continued. . .

As many times as we have been to MSS we have never checked out the brewery. The beer sampler that you had a picture of though looked like that would definately be worth the trip back down there again, we really enjoy their breakfast buffet so we at some point end up there anyways.

How much was the sampler?? $5.50 for each beer? Or for the sampler?? Sorry didn't want to sound stupid but wasn't sure if I was understanding the price correctly and I couldn't find it on their menu thought they may have it on there. Either way when we are there in July my husband and I will have to check that out this time. I'll put that on our to do list!

it is 5.50 for all five beers. its a really good deal and the beers were all good, im just not a port fan. Highly recommend. its basically just your average bar food, but done well with some extras that are quite good. they also have an extensive sushi menu

I am in the process of writring the next three days worth of stuff, will try to post today

Interrupting here - my son loved the beer sampler. Said it wasn't quite as good as the Great Dane (Madison) but was really good. (Even if it was better than the GD he wouldn't be able to say so, lol).

They have a great prime rib dinner also for about $9.99? PR, Potato & beans. And super nice servers every stop. The last trip I asked if they had splenda for my ice tea & they were out so she went back to the break room & got me a dozen packets from her locker.

    Moving Day

I booked our last three nights via a great offer of 19 dollars a night at NYNY. We cabbed it up to the strip and were able to check in via the invited guest desk immediately and got two rooms in the century tower, 2240 and 2042. Rooms were fine, nothing outrageous but plenty adequate. We ate at the pizza joint across from the piano bar (sirrico’s? something like that) and it was great, I have been there before and always enjoy it. Beings that this was my first trip since city center opened we wandered through Monte Carlo and up to aria. I really liked the look of the place. Won a quick 10 bucks on roulette and we left. It was nice but the games were a bit too high for me. We walked to bellagio as we fudged up on trying to find the tram. Checked out the conservatory, seemed nice to me, but I liked the butterflys last year more,
    [IMG]
we wandered into paris as well.
The guys were going to see love this night so we went back to nyny and changed and placed some sports bets. We were running a little low on time so we got a casb to mirage.
As the guys were getting their tickets around 540 or so I put five bucks into a keno machine and turned it into 15. Walked away, watched the beginning of the NCAA championship then took my 15 buck tito and turned it into 100 at mirage playing video roulette. Strange luck but who cares. I went to ti to watch the conclusion of the basketball game but was disappointed that they were now using drink tickets for beverages. Sigh, what a bummer. Once the game was over I played craps and quickly lost the 100 bucks I had won at mirage. I also had a number of adult beverages. By the time the boys got out of love (which had a ten minute break due to technical difficulties) I was damn hungry and half in the bag. We ate at canters which I have had before and it was as tasty as ever. I had the prime rib sandwhich. I don’t recall what everyone else had but all were satisfied. We walked from here to Casino Royale. I played roulette and blackjack. It really didn’t go well, lost another 100 bucks or so. By this time it was 1ish and we actually cabbed it back to nyny. (lazy and drunk move) bed by 130

    April 6th

We played in the 1200 tourny at luxor for 33 bucks. It was a good time but none of us faired too well. In the meantime my buddy jon looked for an atm and dan placed an epic sports bet. More on that later.
We messed around luxor for a while, wandered through mgm, then back to nyny to regroup before hitting up the spice market buffet. The buffet was good but not outstanding, and service was atrocious. I had eaten almost two plates of food before I got my first soda, and we waited, first in line mind you, ten minutes to be seated. This was at 5, so the place had plenty of seats. I just hate waiting for no apparent reason.
We all vegged out in the ph sportsbook as we were well stuffed. Dan was drunk but watching his five game hockey parley slowly take shape. When we had recouperated enough, we took a cab to hard rock, I lost 60 bucks playing video roulette on literally four rolls (dumbass on tilt) and tread water playing craps. We then went to hooters to low roll it. The boys played 3 card and I played craps. I lost 80, but took my last 20 and turned it back into 60 playing blackjack, so at least that was fortunate. I relaly had a rough day though, down about 300 bucks. As I wsas shooting craps I heard dan yell and he had hit his hockey parley for 468 bucks.
Bastard. We wandered back to nyny pretty sober, dan happy, the rest, not so much.

April 7th. Our last full day in town. We played in the 1030 at Luxor (although I thought it was ten, so we rushed over only to realize I am a dumbass) dan came in top 3 where they all made a deal for lik 165 bucks. So dan can officially suck it. We ate lunch at mesa grill. God I love that pressed cuban burger. Yum. After that, we hung out in the CP sports book for a while, placed a couple bets etc. Walked through tht eforum shops and saw the whole stupid show thing. Two of the guys we were with had never been to town so we were trying to show them as much as we could. We went to the venetian, walked through the grand canal shops etc, then cabbed back to NYNY. It was around 6 at this point, and most of us took an hour loong nap in an effort to prepare for the last night of hard drinking and gambling. We were up by 8 or so, and shots of patron were poured in our room. After about five of these delicious libations, we ventured down the the nyny casino for a yard long margarita and about three cigarettes.
Two of us went to bellagio for the fountains,
    [IMG]
two went to tropicana for 3 card. We met up at trop a bit later after a few beers and we were all pretty toasted. Low and behold at the tables at tropicana there was none other but kato kaelin. He was playing blackjack at a private table and betting a whopping 25 a hand. [IMG] The women he was with were both, however, betting much larger sums. I sat down at the next table over and played my last table session of the trip, about half an hour of blackjack. I tread water for the most part and wound up losing 40 bucks. I cashed in my chips and walked to the bathroom. I was drunk, very, and had the remnants of a beer I had put in my yard glass from nyny that I was still nursing. Low and behold who walks in but mr kato kaelin. I said hello as we washed our hands, asked how he was doing, and he said unreal, like they are just giving me free money. I said cool. The rest of the night is a bit of a smoke covered cigarette stenched beer flavored blur but I know we wound up back at nyny. I wonked Dan in the nuts with my guitar glass which was epic funny
    [IMG],
we called some friends on the east coast at 2am vegas time, and I played more video rouletee, earning back 40 bucks, enough tot pay for the 12 tournament at luxor the next day. We bought a couple more beers and a pack of smokes at the gift shop, and eventually crashed our asses in bed around 230-3.

We all had red eyes back so we had the day to waste. We played in the 12 freeze out at Luxor to waste some time. I was big stack the whole time, pushing around everyone with great hands until we hit the final four and I got card dead. Wound up out third, pushing with 44, wound up counterfitted on fourth street with jacks and 9;s on the board. Bullshit. 65 bucks though, so a win is a win. We ate at McDonalds at luxor, and then just hung out in the sports books of there and nyny for the rest of the night. We did see evander holyfield checking out of the Luxor and also saw them filming an episode of csi at Luxor as well. I placed a 10 buck bet on the avalanche to win the Stanley cup at 30-1 so here is hoping on that one lol. My last gambling adventure of the trip brought me to some more video roulette where I turned 20 into sixty.

End result, a great trip, red eye back was epic, slept a lot but still a long ass day.
I lost about 500 gambling and another 300 on food, cabs, beer et al. We had a great time, less drinking than previous trips but we still had a wonderful time.
