At the sports book bar to watch Monday night and play VP. Two drinks in. I’ll have to do the math on the travel day but yea we’ll over 12 hours.

Best bartop paytable I've even seen. Does it build up decent points?

So after blowing 3ish hours at VP at the sportsbook with no major hits and down $500, I went to play some carnival games. They were packed! And it’s an interesting selection of games like 4 card, cross cross, Texas hold ‘em bonus, Flop Poker, and 3 card.

I had never heard of Flop poker before. Basically you get a 3 card hand and the dealer has 3 cards for the flop and you try to make the best hand you can. The flop pays on a table with jacks or better and the ante plays 1:1 if you hit. There’s also a 3 card side bet and a mandatory pot. The pot bet is the min bet from every player and goes into the middle and the player with the best hand wins the pot. So the more people at the table the better. Oh and you MUST use all 3 of your cards which screwed me out of many flushes. It was interesting though I’m not sure I’d play it again. I gotta find the house edge because the pays weren’t that great. I did horrible and it seemed like one guy won every hand, he was up huge. I left down $150.

Then I went to Hold ‘Em Bonus which I forgot I hated but I didn’t want to be that guy that made people move just to leave. I got a pocket aces which paid 30 to 1 but then a few hands later I flopped a 4 of a kind which earns me? An extra $25…. On ultimate Texas Hold ‘em it would’ve earned me 300-1 on a progressive plus 30-1 on a trips bet and 10-1 on my action. Missed out on about 3ish grand at my normal bet levels which kinda sucks but ah well. I did leave up $50.

After that it was about 11:30pm and I went to play some Pai Gow Poker. The face up tables were packed and no one was at the commission table. So I played there and grinded and grinded and grinded and got very drunk, the cocktail waitress was on point and would almost be perfect with me finishing my last drink and give me a new one. No major hits to speak of at all, highest I got was a full house. There was two straight flushes on both sides of me and I was really hoping it was my turn but didn’t hit ah well. It was about 3:30am when I ran out of my initial buy in of $300 and I had been up about 22 hours straight at that point and I needed to go to sleep.

Pro tip. The only thing open that late to grab some waters and Gatorade was a convenience store under the poker room at the food court. I also got a hot breakfast sandwich to soak up all the liquor and that was definitely needed. Didn’t take a pic but I would describe it as very tasty at 4am. I also forgot to bill it to my room but oh well.

Woke up about 10am and watched some news, took a shower and gonna head down to the buffet for lunch I think. First buffet in 2-3 years! Then I think I’ll take a walk along the boardwalk before heading back for the Isakaya happy hour and some gaming

I never checked while playing but looking at my mgm app, no? I would’ve expected a lot more for how long I played. Maybe it’s not updated yet

Hard Rock still has a $20 free play offer to new cardmembers.

They have VP in the Lobby Bar, the HR Cafe bar (near the front) and at a tiny bar in the Sports Book. Very good drinks too. Check out the Asian pit, they should have a Pai Gow table going. Several casinos in AC have Pai Gow tiles.

Buffet was lackluster at best. Food was underwhelming and kinda tasted like soap. Plus the waitress took 30min to recognize me and get me a soda and it took a different table to tell her I was waiting because I was trying to wave her down.

Then I caught a Jitney to the boardwalk. I wasn’t paying attention so I ended up by Ocean Club / Morris Ave just south of the Tropicana. Got out and walked the board walk to try to find a bar. Google Maps said several were open. That couldn’t be further from the truth. So I kept walking and walking and walking until I found the Landshark bar by Resorts and Hard Rock. That’s where I’m just chilling now getting a few beers in me before I check out Hard Rock and head back to Borgata. Don’t know if I’ll play much at Hard Rock

The Boardwalk is ALIVE. I understand it’s a Monday in November but damn this is low key depressing

Ditch Landshark and go to Dougherty's Raw Bar inside Resorts, its on the second level. Happy Hour right now, $1.25 oysters and reduced price appetizers. $2 Miller Lites and some cocktail specials.

You passed several bars steps away from the boardwalk on your journey north: Tony's Baltimore Grill, Ducktown Tavern, Irish Pub, Pic-A-Lilli Pub, Tennessee Ave. Beer Hall, Bourre, Bar 32.

As for the lack of crowds on the boardwalk, I think you're onto something.....Monday in November before the Holiday, overcast and a little chilly.

Also made it to Dougherty’s based on @hammie ’s happy hour suggestion. $2 Miller draft and $1.25 oysters.

I only got 3 for now because I do want to do Izakaya’s happy hour too. Also only needed half a chub otherwise I would be going after those AC hookers I saw last night! :shy:

That's how it is everywhere along the shore from October to April or so. You might think it's depressing, but many of us from there actually like it.
