It may look all trendy having a half door, but my experience with this is that water does end up on the floor no matter what you do! You can put a towel or bath mat down but it just gets soaked. We have stayed at Gold Coast and experienced those showers but I don’t remember Orleans having half doors. Very dangerous in my opinion.

If you’re cold something needs to change. How about saving water at the same time? Wrap yourself in a towel, put something in the door to prevent its closure and go out into the hallway……..”I’m getting ready to shower and don’t want to be cold!!!! Who’ll help me out ?”……CAUTION: unintended results could be forthcoming….….….:shy: ……but you don’t want to be cold right? :(
Give it a try, what could happen

I also have a shower with a half (or 2/3rds really) door at home. Love it, wouldn’t want to back to a fully enclosed shower.

I guess I'll be the contrarian... I prefer this set up (half door) as the bathroom temp. is not as "chilly" when I step out of the shower enclosure ... never had an issue being "cold" while in the shower enclosure....can water splash onto the floor outside the enclosure ?...Sure, but an adjustment of the shower head...down and away from the entry solves that issue...as mentioned earlier, the bathrooms at Ballys are enclosed with a door...

It seems like a lot of people in Vegas are not showering.
    maybe this is why...

For god's sake stop calling them half doors. They're holes.

Or "doorless full body washing systems" if you must.

I'm staying at Harrahs now in a Mountain Tower room... I can confirm the shower is about half glass, no door... and I did take a shower this morning and I was cold in there. The floor also got wet.

I did stand at the end of the shower as @bull0120 mentioned to take in all the manliness...but it was pretty cold so... well, um, nevermind :p

Weirdly the shower at the D was similar but I wasn't cold and water didn't get on the floor.

I agree! We just got back from our 2nd stay at Harrahs in 2 years. While we like the hotel and location very much, the shower drives me crazy. I too feel it’s very cold, sort of not luxurious, and water gets all over the floor.

While we’re on the topic…. The floors are incredibly slippery in the bathrooms too

My Luxor room last week had the half door. I was skeptical, but it was fine, floor wasn't wetter in any noticeable way. I think I had a remodeled room - showerhead was nice and big, rain-style, plenty of hot hot water. It was very nice.

Now my hotel in DC, immediately after Vegas? Slippery marble floor, took ages to heat up, and was just the old tub-shower combo, with the fabric curtain. This was a Hilton, and one night there was more than my entire room cost for 4 nights in Vegas (which handily demonstrates the value of Vegas, lol).

I dislike these showers and this trend to install a shower with a hole & no door. If you have a large, deep, shower, this isn't an issue at all. But the showers in the hotels are always too short for this set-up, and water gets everywhere. If there's a door at least it gives those of us who like it closed the option to close it, and those of you who like it open the option to leave it open. Or give me a longer shower (like 9-10 ft), not these 6 ft wet messes.

Some of them definitely flood the floor a little bit more than others. I wipe it up with the bathmat and it dries quickly.
    Not a deal breaker.

Linq did. And what's so crazy is that they went back and added them before Harrah's did their renovation.

I was gonna ask which half when I saw the title of this thread. Yeah, as others have said that's not even a door, which implies something that can open and close.

breanna61, your bathroom is beautiful and I love your shower. The main problem I have with the 1/2 wall shower in hotels is that the faucet is in the front under the shower head therefore you have to get in to turn on the shower then step back and hope it's not to hot or to cold and have to move back up to adjust. You solved that problem but putting them in the back half of the shower and can adjust temperature before you get fully wet. I turn the shower head toward the wall so the floor doesn't get wet but somehow it still happens.
