    My Trip Report

    Friday, Sept 24- Tuesday 28

The scheduled Golden Arm event at the Cal was abruptly cancelled with relatively short notice, maybe 2 weeks. Quite disappointing, went anyways, the upside is I could hit and run all downtown, instead of probably camping at Cal for 48 hrs straight, trying to do the near impossible 1 hr+ roll to get a plaque on the wall. Just guesstimating the longest roll I had during this trip could have been 20-25 minutes max. hard to judge time, longest roll I saw could have been pushing 40 minutes. IMHO, There definitely was a higher percentage of pretty skilled rollers all about.

    Possible alternate titles

"Now I remember why we never do weekends"
"Soon I'll be crying tears of lament at BHB, and cursing Boyd, or else saying 'take that!''
"Hope I get to meet @44inarow or any other VMBers that happen to be downtown"

Shout out to @Craps_Player, "I will channel your terrible cancelled Craps itch",
and @FuzzyDiceCraps , coming soon, I'll be trying to run around downtown, crush craps wherever I can, not (?) take chip pics in the restroom, drink a pink drink, and very quickly and suddenly drop off all communication :);):poke:.

In an attempt to comply with TR structural constraints, I will contain (edit: almost) all my nonsense warm up songs to a Youtube playlist that will be ordered and modded on the fly.

IIRC my last non TR TR starts (was a nice Cosmo strip view) on pg 2 of
Don't Hangry, be Happy. LILO July prep

It used to be the best place for great VP and tasty brew. Now, the brew is still great.

    More alternative titles,
"Damn I picked the wrong weekend for an all DT trip."
    "Waah , I wanna meet @Flowers "

Good luck all you fancy Strip high rollers!
hit me up if you go slumming late at night on Fremont.
or if there's a massive Strip VMBer meetup,
"Screw it, let's hit the Strip"

Wow I picked the wrong podcast to try to fall asleep to

    the drop box
    Ep 4 casino math
@Chuck2009x I’m all but positive you’ll get a kick out of it.
    prob @44inarow , @tringlomane , and a few others too.

some great insider history & casino side takes on comps, rating, and promos.

    a few takeaways:
the 90s were the heyday for comps, before that it was super primitive, now its super high tech tracking.
$5 tables are likely long gone and not coming back.
$25 mins increase the denom, so a bigger jump than you'd think from $15.

one funny part is when they somewhat confirm they have 3 comp skill levels to rate players at, and one of the guys asks how accurately the pit boss will rate that and they all ROFLTAO.

They were talking about the worst rating of unskilled at BJ, and an example is a guy that will never hit any bustable hand, they want him playing and will comp him all day long, I LMAOed, I met that guy at a SP BJ table once.. Bet SP comps him good.

oh and  still up, sun almost is too, another great deep podcast I found is called
    Risk of Ruin.

I love hearing hard core AP stories, but at the end of the day, it sounds an awful lot like work,
I'm here for a good time, not a long time, so really not so appealing when you really hear about the nuts and bolts and swings of going "pro".

I shouldn’t be cheering you on from here. I should be welcoming you to arriving Downtown. I should be there. Not in spirit. But as that’s not happening, I’ll just push you on to win a load of cash. enjoy your trip !!!

Didn’t nap, spent an hour trying to access an insurance estimate but wifi/cell was not cooperating, so got on the phone, went through a whole rigamarole, talked to our mechanic and it was already handled, so all that effort wasn't even necessary. Got it off our mind though.

Figured we’d head out early to eat at Aloha Specialties, check out MSS, then head in early when the Fri night crowds got unbearable.

3 $15 craps tables at Cal,
    Saw a $10 BJ

Cal was busier than we’ve ever seen it.
But we don’t usually do weekends.
as usual it was a chill way to ease into the groove.

No kicker. Was busy talking to Chris and suddenly noticed the digital scratcher thing was up, only to see it time out without a touch and give me $1. Yay. First new scratcher.
$10 min MSS craps w 20x odds on a Fri night?
    I’m in!
Full rotation getting to me 2 PSOing was pretty all around brutal, but not $25 min brutal 0672CA9E-9555-41DA-9EB4-AD8AE8287262.jpeg

Even saw Alix. Only met her once before, the other time we came for a weekend.

Took the scraps to a $10 3:2 BJ table, managed to hit about four + of those pair bets (2s, 9s),
2 of which were suited, and a few of which had the dealer on it:
The second suited (first was King clubs):

    (Both splits failed btw)
    That pile of dealers tips- all me :rolleyes:;
    B34E6B94-0FE7-4BF6-94BD-AC4FE5ED1631.jpeg
That was the only good thing happening, the dealer was on one of those never bust w bust card runs.
even saw a $5 min BJ table. 6:5

P reported at one point she and the lady next to her were both on Four to a royal draws on a progressive DDB, the lady fills her Spade Royal, the progressive had just hit 1199.77, and the attendant was going to write her up for a W2, she argues up to a slot supervisor and wins, on the technicality the progressive displayed 1199.77, even if it got rounded up to $1200.

    P didn’t fill her clubs,

The next night, P gets the same draw on the same machine that the lady hit on,
with the progressive almost exactly the same,
